This has bothered me for a while...

Hogue has a really cool revolver shown as their display revolver for their Zombie-X grips, and I really want to know what it is.

Here is the link:

Does anyone know what it is? Has anyone seen anything like that? I'm assuming that it is a Smith K or L frame (since that's what the grip is for) and I really like what they have done with it. It looks to me like a custom job. If so, anyone know where one might go about getting work like that done?

Before posting any replies, do not post about the grips themselves... I love Hogue grips and I love zombies, but those grips, not so much. I don't want to start a war on zombies and guns, since that has been done already.

Looks to me like a smith'd version of this one. But I reserve the right to be wrong if someone more knowledgeable steps up with a more correct answer.

I guess it IS true after all.

Beauty is truly, in the Eye of the Beholder!!

Myself?
That has to be the most butt-ugly S&W photo-shop job I have ever seen!!

+1 on the photoshop.
Used to be they added thicker barrels and barrel weights on custom competition revolvers to add weight and make them steadier. Looks like they are doing the opposite now, lol
Do they make S&W's with an internal barrel liner and outside shroud? Can't be a 629 with that short cylinder.

It is just a custom barrel shroud on an L-frame (look at the cylinder size compared to the frame)

The new S&W's all have two piece barrels. All you need to change the shroud is an insert to fit the rifling
