I have a Remington 700 SPS DM; I want to make this rifle as accurate as I can without spending a ton of money, so I'm trying to stay away from buying a new stock. This factory stock is not a free-floating design, and is relatively flimsy. It would also be nice if it was a little longer and had a taller cheek piece. I could bed the action, free-float the barrel, put some spacers in between the recoil pad and the stock, and maybe buy a cheek riser or even fiberglass my own. In your opinion, is all this worth the effort or should I just buy an aftermarket stock?
