Can I purchase a Handgun in FL even if I live in NY

OK, I live in NY and have my pistol permit. I've applied for my FL permit and should receive it in 2 or 3 months. So my question is, once I get my FL CCW can I purchase a handgun in FL even though I'm NY resident?

NO is indeed correct, unless you can get it sent to a NY FFL who will do the transfer, and of course assuming it meets NY laws.

You can buy FROM any state, you just can't buy IN any state other than yours.

Only if the State in question allows it. Some States have contiguous States only and/ or reciprocity laws. (Florida and New York both have contiguous State laws.)

Don't know if this would work, or not.....It would be like buying a handgun on an internet auction site....
You might be able to purchse it, ask the previous owner to ship the gun to a FFL in NY, and go back home to take posession of it from the FFL.
You cannot take posession in FL.
Of course, if you failed the background check in NY, you'd be in dodo.
