Greetings,

I'm kicking around the idea of setting my 4-12x40 Leupold in a LaRue QD mount for mounting on a 6.8 SPC AR15 upper for deer hunting. I use the 700 once a year, for deer hunting, and if I get the 6.8 upper it will get used a whole lot less.

I was wondering if I could put a Picatinny mount on the M700 and swap the scope over for the once every 4yr black bear hunt or the once every 20yr elk hunt. Physically I don't see why not, but would the height and eye-relief be wayyy off?

Thank you much!

Your plan would work, but the scope would be high for the Remington. Think "jaw weld" instead of "cheek weld".

My scope sits very high on my AR so it can clear my flip up iron sight. If I didn't have the sight, then I could get it a lot lower. Otherwise, yeah, a scopes a scope, and I'm sure they make a picatinny rail for the 700.

Use the LT104 mount I don't think you would have any issues with cheek weld.
I don't see why you would have an eye relief issue. The rail on both weapons allow for a lot of options as to mount placement.
You will need to rezero for each weapon.

just hit range zero both and jot down the dialed in settings and you should be good to go

Or damn close. If I had target turrets I would be even better off.

My scope sits very high on my AR so it can clear my flip up iron sight. If I didn't have the sight, then I could get it a lot lower.

It's not an issue unless the scope is very low powered. 3-9x is just fine:

Thanks for the insight folks, this might be a plan.
