Can only have 3 guns

Indoor,

Can't part with my 65'' screen man. Number one, is there is no resale value and I do think I would be miserable.

If my better half forced me to narrow it down to 3 I'd be single.

But seriously, I only really use five main guns:

-Remington 870-12 GA pump for HD and hunting
-Benelli M1S90- 12GA semi for trap
-Remington 700 in .30-06 for hunting in NH
-T/C encore for hunting
-And onoccasion my .22WMR for chucks.

Your selection is fine. You can use your pistol to conceal, or use for home defense, your shotgun for home defense, and your shotgun and rifle for hunting. While some people make it seem like you "need" more, you really don't. As long as you're not always jonesing for some other gun for a shooter, or a range toy you will be all right with your choice. I might add, a .22LR is always something fun to go shoot at the range, even with the wife. You may want to consider keeping one of those if you have one.

I think it's wise that you are actually taking responsibility and selling off un-needed guns to support your children and what have you. No matter how many guns one may have, a gun still has nothing on a companion.

I would rather have absolutely nothing but the clothes on my back and a friend than all the guns in the world.

.22 rf revolver...K22, Ruger Super Single Six Convertable

.357 revolver in a handy size...M13, 3",RB;

.22 rf locked breech repeater...Marlin 39A

That'd do me fairly well. Not great, but It'd do.

salty

Thanks Deer hunter. Needed to pay off Dr. Bills for the birth of my daughter. I do agree with you about "really" needing more guns. If I had an unlimited supply of cash, of course I would have many more guns that I just "want." But in those calibers, I think its just about all I need for what I do.

your heart & head are in the right place asharris, but i was wondering if a contender with a bunch of barrels would qualify as one gun?

I couldn't get buy without at least 4. Have to add a .22 rifle to the list. While those may not be my exact choices I think you have all the bases covered except I would have another longer barrel and conventional stock for the shotgun.

"Time to find a "better" half."

ill second that - im currently replaceing , at exorbatant cost , all that ex's cost me over the last 40 years , dont be like me .......................

having said that , if i needed through necessity to pair down my holdings , id keep

1] your best shooting handgun
2] your best shooting rifle
3] your best shooting shotgun

you then can compete and protect as well as join the revolution when we start gathering ,

but i also think you MUST keep yopur best 22cal pistol and rifle , we eat what we forage , some of it is small furry stuff , and practice needs to be economical ,

OH , and keep your favorite fishing pole and tackle box as well - she will thank you for preovideing when the grocery shelves are empty

but - first choice , speaking from expeience , its time to trade better halves ,

it just cant be done for me,maybe if it was 3 pistols,3 rifles, but 3 combined? i cant come up with a trio;

I just cannot imagine the circumstances that would force me to allow myself to be "limited", by someone else, to just three guns.

Let me think............................................................nope, nothing.

sorry

Mark.

edit: I should point out...the gun thing would be settled BEFORE marriage. Those issues would be out in the open and over. I mean, you know about children or not...attitudes about sex...church...money...ect before marriage...makes life a bit easier.

You guys would seriously prefer your guns to your family? Ouch!

Sounds like a good three to go with. I'd probably put a .22 pistol in place of the HK. On the other hand, it's a lot easier to add a .22 later on the cheap than replace that HK.

Have to keep the springfield 1911: feel naked with out it close at hand.

Wouldn't let my ruger 300 wm go just cause when I pull the trigger things fall over and I can eat them.

Les baer AR .204... My wife found out how much it costs and now she will never let me get rid of it.

I'd still tell 'em to grow a pair because it's almost always about an anti-gun attitude rather than a financial problem. I know how it works and worked through it with my spouse. While she doesn't really shoot, she doesn't give me any problems over new acquisitions.

It's about a deal with the spouse before getting married. Working together to meet financial goals is important. Too many folks go off the reservation and spend beyond their means. It doesn't matter if it's car accessories, guns, shoes, or anything else...break the budget and fights about money will occur in the near future.

While I wouldn't give up my wife for my guns, I won't give up my guns either. But, I was smart about it; full disclosure occurred while we were dating. She had the opportunity to end the relationship and I made it clear that I would not bother her if she decided to end it. Unfortunately, many men seem to lose the ability for clear thinking and planning when a relationship is new and intense.

If you want to leave your door still open for more, buy a TC encore, and then you can just tell the other half that you just are buying parts as you add more and more barrels and caliber choices.

In new york, if you buy it as a pistol on a permit, you can also use it as a rifle by chainging the stock and forearm.

They also can do blackpowder x 209

I can't wait to get mine - saving -saving -saving

Anyone got one cheap ? lol

1. Belongs in General discussion forum.

2. My answer (this week), going from ones I have, is DPMS LR260-L, Mossberg 930 SPX, and CZ 75 SP01 Tactical.

Wow .. only 3... hmmmm
Dpms Lr308 w/ all the toys...
XD 45
Any quality shotgun that had changable barrels

But then I would make my wife cut herself down to only three pairs of shoes

Thanks Deer hunter. Needed to pay off Dr. Bills for the birth of my daughter

This is the important part, not your collection, not your pride, not your affection for home theater equipment. I have 4 kids and have a decent amount of firearms. The choice between providing for my kids and my guns as much as I would hate to the guns are gone. Narrow it down to three get back on your feet and gradually get back into it. I got laid off a couple years ago and things got tight I sold 5-6 guns that I really didn't ever shoot to help make ends meet. It has nothing to do with grow a pair. Actually it does grow a pair and take care your family don't whine about your guns. Now if your wife spends the money from the gun sales on shoes by all means whine, bitch, throw a fit. You will have all of our blessings

Get rid of the other half. Oppression sucks. To answer the question of only three.

T/C Encore or H&R handi-rifle. My can do all rifle. barrels .17 hmr, .22 lr, 12 ga., .223, 30-06, .243, and .45-70 for starters.
1911 (with a .22 conversion kit)
M1A springfield. .308

If only 3

S&W 629 5" .44mag 0-100 yards
Marlin 1894SS .44mag 0-200 yards
Springfield M1A White Feather 200-1,000 yards
