Well, that was a big fat fail:
I was going to paint a spare rim for the semi. I so prepped it, found a can of gray spray paint, shook it up.....and nothing. It was old. I assume the aerosol was gone from the can but the paint was still liquid inside. I set it up in a coffee can to catch any spilling and shot the can top with my .22 Hatsun 95 air rifle. My hopes were to pop a hole, pour the paint in a coffee can, and paint the rim with a brush. Instead the can went airborne like a helicopter and sprayed the surrounding gravel with gray paint.
I'm certainly glad I didn't use the drill press like I had originally thoughto_Oo_O:what::cuss:

The Hatsun put a hole right where I wanted though! I have been really enjoying this rifle, and should have gotten it years ago. It is accurate and fun and 0 ammo concerns!

When I am done using a rattle can, I'm in the habit of removing the spray tip and spritzing the tip and the "dip tube" with carb cleaner. This also works on spray foam cans and tips.

I just got a Hatsan 95 delivered today . I didn't shoot it much because I am tired and it isn't the easiest gun to cock . I managed to drop 3 shots in an area about the size of a dime at 15 yards. Iron sights. Amazing how much bigger the 25 cal. Pellets look over 22 caliber

My Gammo has destroyed 18 chipmunks, one Pigeon, and zero cats this year. Since I don't shoot cats, zero is a good score. The Hatsan 95 was on my buy list, until my dad gave me a Gammo. Glad you like it. Your can shooting was a great idea except for the remaining pressure. I shot a few left over cans of various household items. They all popped pretty good.

If when you stop spraying with a spray paint can, just turn it upside down & give it a squirt until all the paint in the tube & nozzle spray out it won't clog. I have had cans run out of propellant, then I use compressed air & repressurize the can by giving it a quick blast with my blow gun tip. If you repressurize with air you need to use all of the contents because it will harden up when stored.

This is true, but not as fun as the pellet gun method.
