Thinking about selling my Sigg and going with an Springfield xds. Looking for some size comparisons on Google and I couldn't find any. Wondering if any of you guys own both and can post some pictures for size comparison?
Unless I go through with the purchase of a Sig 225-A1, my 239 is on my never sell list.
As for the comparison you asked for, while I don't agree with his analysis, Colion Noir posted a comparison of the Sig 239 and the G@#%! 26 a few years ago on Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqSTewwhYwg You can watch that comparison then do a Youtube search for XDs vs the Austrian thing and get an idea of how they compare side by side.
Or, you can go to the local gun store that you would buy the XDs from and ask them to put a 239 and a XDS side by side for you. Sometimes the simple answer is the hardest to see.
My P239 is also on the list of handguns I will probably never sell. I shoot it very well and its not hard to carry, but I only like to do so OWB.
The XDs pictured is a 3.3" 45, as far as I know it is dimensionally the same as the 9mm model. I carry this one in an IWB kydex holster nearly every day.
I'd shoot one first if possible. A few people have said the XDs grip stippling is too aggressive. I do like shooting it though, im fairly accurate with it but with 230 grain +p ammo it's a handful. I imagine the 9mm would be easier to handle.
I had a 239 but it just didn't fit my hand. Nothing wrong with it. It just wasn't for me. The XDS grips can be fixed with some Talon grip tape. The rubber type that is.
