Can we re-visit the lasix discussion?

My question to you guys is How much can you feel, and how well can they dope you up?

Completely, absolutely painless. I didn't feel a thing either during or after the procedure. You will want someone along who can take care of you; they doped me pretty well.

One note is that in my case, the whole procedure (both lasers, as described by another poster) was done with me in a single chair; no moving.

I had mine done when I was 25. Initially they were better, but I really think they are worse now than they were before I had it done. I can't remember the cost, seems like around $2500 for the pair. I'm now 35, so I say it's not a good investment at least in my experience. But... My brother who is 7 years older than me had it done about the same time, and he has no problems now, and he was born with THICK glasses. I guess everyone's diffrent.
You did it too early. My eye surgeon told me to wait until I was after 30 as the eyesight deterioration slows down / stops at that age. I did have a big drop in vision from about 26->29 years old. I had my LASIC done at 32 and I am in my late forties now, still don't need glasses (although may have to start wearing reading glasses soon).

Yep, same thing here . They numb your eyes but you're otherwise fully awake and can smell the burning flesh as the laser cuts through your cornea ;) The whole thing took less than an hour, probably more like 30 min, and I didn't have to move at all.

I had my eyes done 10 - 12 years ago. Eyesight started out perfect afterwards, has gone downhill quite a bit since then (very gradually, so much so that I had no idea just how bad it had gotten until I decided to get contacts so I could see better when I shot). I have astigmatism, eyesight has remained good enough that I can drive and do normal things without further correction, but I wear contacts to shoot and other occasions when I think improved vision would be handy. Was informed that I can't get them re-zapped to match the contacts, the correction necessary would start causing other problems.

Process wasn't painful, but it was definitely freaky. Worst part was the smell during the procedure - that's your eyeball burning.

I worry that in my mid sixty's perhaps I am expecting too much. I experienced an unusual decline the past year. I really need to go and speak to the doctor. It may be a matter of waiting for the current trend I have experienced will stop and stabilize, as other things do, "like hair loss", It runs in cycles of about 7 years, I don't know if vision is the same.
If I look through a small diameter hole, it is clear , 'which I know is normal" , but unusually so". and things have gotten darker as of late. Not really to an extreme, but I do notice it. That could be the astigmatisim getting worse and requiring drops or worse. I figure if I am going to mess with them, I better find out what is available now as opposed to a few years ago, as these things make large strides in techniques and applications quickly, and you can easily get misinformation from a doctor who only does 1 type of corrections as opposed to many.
