I already know I will get some flak from guys who think this $310 pistol is as good as a Glock or Sig....well, it's not. Got the exact same gun Nutnfancy has in his video, including the color: desert tan. The pistol looks nice, no doubt, and comes wich a wide assortment of doo-dads...holster, 2 17 round mags, 2 spare front sights, etc. My first shots at 7 yards were a disappointment, I thought I had totally missed the paper, but the shots were just waaaaay off.. low left. Obviously nobody sights in these guns at the factory, not even crudely. The plastic front sights are pretty bad, one was so crooked I had to take if off again. The rear sight is tricky to adjust, not a precision device. The manual does not say which way to turn the screw to adjust impact to the left or right. Put a dozen FMJ and a dozen lead reloads through with no hiccups. That's a positiv.

The trigger is weird. Do not get what the 'set' (half cocked) trigger is supposed to be good for. Your still need a good pull to fire. The decocker is clumsy and not easy to operate. Fit and finish is OK but not outstanding. Take a close look at the trigger group and you will see what I mean. Mec-Gar magazines. Summary: If $300 is your budget you can do worse, but do not expect this to be in the same league as a Glock, Springfield or SIG. If you want to comment please stay on topic and don't try to insult me... :)

I think Caniks look like great guns like the Shark FC or the S-120. Great guns for the money. They get very good reviews! I'm seriously considering one.

everybody likes the Walther P99as
and the trigger is setup just the same
once you learn to shoot it to the reset the whole character of the gun changes
but i do agree on the sights
file on the front crank a bit on the back

You get what you pay for, but I have read that their CZ clones are pretty good. I still would spring the extra few bucks for a genuine CZ, but the Turks seem to have these clones down pretty well.

But,but, but, but its the greatest gun evar.Says Nutn....
You must not know what your doing.Nutn ALWAYS knows what he is doing. lol

I purchased a C100 last year, its the compact version of the CZ and have been very pleased with it ,just over 500 rounds through it w/o any issues. I often carry it and trust it completely . I recently been looking at the rest of the Canik line including the TP9 I've never been a fan of polymer guns (Ruger,Sig,Glock,CZ) can't ever seem to warm up to them and end up selling them off.WTS at the price point the TP9 is ,it may fit the role of a HD pistol with a light attached I could learn to like it...thanks for the review btw

Hahahah....and I really enjoy watching his videos. But now I am beginning to wonder how truly 'unbiased' his ratings are....:) I heard from a guy at J&G sales that he had called them before airing it...did he want or expect anything? I don't know. They just told him to go ahead and do the video or don't do it, whatever. But he did have a pretty big impact on sales they said!

Is the walther MUCH heavier than necessary as gritty. I don't mind the SA/DA or decocker. it the the trigger pull itself that is objectionable on the TP9.

I have the tristar t120(canik 55).

It shot 10" high at 25yds and about that far to the left. Not acceptable but I drifted the sight over and purchased a 1.5mm taller front fiber optic sight(was going to anyway) and everything is dead on now.

I was frustrated at first but it groups as tight as any gun I've ever shot. I honed the trigger mechanisms down to get a better single action trigger and used Cajun gun works $17 spring kit to get the double action triggger wayyy down.

Love the gun now but its not for everyone.

ill agree that it started out with some grit
and i do have about 4k rounds thru mine (maybe more as i lose track)
and i dont notice it at all
i very seldom DA it
but i often run the trigger to the set point on the first shot
that may have to do with the fact that i dont burn up my carry ammo at the range and start with a fresh mag, so almost always start cocked.
even my 3rd gen Smith has a fairly objectionable DA pull
so i dont get to worked up over that
if it was a DAO gun then i would worry

Interesting. I have the same gun and it shoots 5- 6 inches low at 25 yards but about on horizontal. Where did you get the fiber optic sight? Was it a pain to replace with the little roll pin that holds the sight? Finish came with a blemish or two, but otherwise an excellent little gun for the money.

Got the sight from CZ custom. You have to use a formula to figure out how much smaller you need the front sight(my stock one was 5.5mm).

Replacing it was very easy and I didn't even need a special punch.

shooting low you could save money by grinding down the front sight..6" @ 25yds would be right at 1mm(1.016).

You can use this website to calculate http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/lid=13093/guntechdetail/Sight_Correction_Calculator..

Because CZ sells sights and your front sight is measured in MM just use google to convert Inches to mm(brownells gives you Inches).

Except the brilliant Walther P99AS trigger is about 100 times more refined. It is lighter, crisper, and buttery smooth once it breaks in.

I have had one of these for the past couple of years.

For $300.00 plus $10.00 ffl and free shipping I got...

2 seventeen round Mec-Gar magazines, hardshell case, cleaning kit and adjustable paddle style holster.

So far the pistol has been 100% reliable.
