I’m a Canik fan. I own two. Bought the SC Elite for my carry gun and liked it so much I bought the full size TP9SFX. My only complaint with the TP9SFX is with the big chunky mag release button. It’s a sharp cube that bothers my hand. Anyone have this issue and changed out that button? Mine is pictured.

Your gun should have come with a tool kit, and in it is 2-3 sizes of that mag release. Super easy to change out, and you can even completely leave all the release buttons off, and the remaining button is extremely low profile, yet still very functional.

THANK YOU! I simply unscrewed and removed the big chunky button and now I have a comfortable low profile mag release. It’s like a whole new gun.

I had a TP9SA for a while. Nice shooting pistol with a pretty great trigger for a SF gun.

When I got into shooting competition I found a caveat, at least for me.

It has an absurdly long slide release. That caused me to ride that lever shooting comps, which in turn caused the slide to not lock back on last shot.

It was an extreme annoyance and ultimately was the reason I got rid of it.

I switched to the Glock platform and have been happy ever since, although I'm sure there are other platforms that would work just as well.

Anyone know of these are +P rated? I just bought a Mete SFX. I don’t shoot them often but it’s nice to have the option.

PS I read most of the manual. I don’t remember seeing if it said. I’ll have to read it again.

When most civilian defense situations are reported settled in less than six rounds, what is the mania lately of "needing" more than the 15,18 & 20 round mags shipped with guns. Many manufacturers offer models with 2, sometimes 3 magazines. Even range days are better slowing down, interact with companions as you reload the basic set.

To each his own I guess. I shoot everything from flintlocks to ARs and don't concern myself with the preferences of others. Enjoying firearms that accept high capacity magazines isn't a mania. I find the term "mania" being used on a firearms forum to be a bit degrading to those who use such guns.
