I didn’t specifically start out trying to build a rifle with all Canadian parts but here we are.

I happened upon this Gen 2 Ultimatum Deadline barreled action in the EE section of a Canadian Gun Forum.
The machinework on this action is excellent with not a single sharp corner.
It is a 3 lug 60 degree design with a Savage style extractor and twin ejectors.
The bolt diameter is far greater than a standard Savage or Remington bolt.
The barrel is an IBI in 6.5 Creedmoor with 1-7.5” twist.
It also has on it an MDT Elite muzzle brake.

The threading is the same as that of a small shank Savage barrel which I already have several of.

Being a Savage guy I asked around what everyone’s favorite 2 stage Remington clone trigger was and TriggerTech seemed to be highly thought of so I went with that.

As far as a chassis is concerned the MDT ACC fit all of my criteria and them selling a Deadline compatibility kit didn’t hurt.
Already owning 2 other MDT chassis systems I felt it was the way to go.
The chassis in FDE and accessories should be here on Tuesday.

The only other chassis I was thinking of was the Foundation Genesis 2 but after speaking with Foundation it seems that the barrel channel is not wide enough for the barrel nut.

Since I got this far I may as well throw my Tangent Theta TT525P on top of it to go all Canuck.

Truth be told I will need to replace the Vortex precision matched rings, made by Seekins Precision to a set of MDT rings to make it an all Canadian build.

The build is finally completed.
I received my order from MDT today:
MDT ACC Premier Chassis
SRS-X Elite Buttstock
Ultimatum Deadline Compatibility Kit
Premier Vertical Grip
M-Lok Spare 2 round holder
M-Lok Aluminum Rear Bag Rider

I just finished putting it together.

The compatibility kit lowers the AICS mag to clear the larger diameter bolt and its 3rd lug at 6 O’clock.
The 10 or so rounds I cycled through it functioned flawlessly.
I will be weighing it tomorrow and figuring out how much weight I want to add to the rifle and where.

Nice rifle, eh?

You’ll be required to post group sizes in millimeters and weight in kilos

Just got back from a week long fishing trip to central Ontario. Great country and super people
