PRS/NRL22 rifle

The ones I've shot with are the B14R. The range where I shoot usually has one on the wall and people are grabbing them up.

I don't know if things have changed, but getting stuff for a CZ used to be a PITA. I think the Bergara has an advantage there.

Honestly, if I was to jump down the rabbit hole again, it may just be with a Bergara. I've been wanting one because of the way they shoot and the simplicity of getting there. I just really don't want to go down that hole again.

Thanks for the information, everyone. I just bought a CZ 457 Lux from a friend for 500. I am very interested in competition but unlikely to enter any due to arthritis acting up. But I am looking to outfit my new rifle and all this helps. I have been invited to shoot with some guys on a private range so I will get to test my new rifle against my 452 CZ. Best of luck to you guys.

While a chassis stock adds more money to the project, they do help if you have arthritis in your hands and wrists. I sometimes struggle with a tradition stock due to injuries and arthritis.

Every CZ I've seen has a nice wood stock that I would hate to be throwing around but I hear they shoot great.

Rifle didn't come in last week, I'll have to call them today, but I told them they could combine it with another to save on shipping. I've ordered the base and "target" trigger springs they show shipped but no expected delivery date yet. Ordered the Vortex Venom 5-25x56 scope Irishlad referenced earlier, now to get everything here and put together.

I am strongly right eye dominant, but shoot both eyes open.
Always have.
My left eye doesn't turn left much, Duane's Syndrome.
So if they said "weak side"...

"...you'd tell them you can't shoot with your left eye, and the squad would devise some accommodation where you could shoot with your right eye, usually just changing trigger hand since you can't change shoulder/eye."

The rulebook and the match operations are accommodating - especially rimfire and regional level matches. Even at the pro series level of centerfire, physical accommodations are made - I've shot multiple times with guys which only have one eye, and have been on squad with a dude with only one arm, and have seen guys at matches walking around on prosthetic legs - lots of vets in this sport with various injuries, as well as lots of older folks with sufficient disposable income and all of the injuries and debilitations inherent to living half a century or more of "alpha male" activities. In fact, the NRL22 rulebook (allegedly, I've only been told so by the national director, but haven't read it myself) allows that differently abled shooters could, in fact, shoot an entire NRL22 course of fire from seated position at a shooting bench, and the matches are required to make such accommodations (for example, amputee or quadriplegic shooters).

It's not an exclusive society, I've never met a PRS or NRL shooter which didn't want EVERYONE to be out shooting matches.

Springs and Base came in yesterday:), Got a little busy and didn't call about my gun, I'll try again today.
Question about mounting a scope, I have 1 inch and 30mm rings in multiple sizes, If I mount a 30mm scope in 1" high rings would that be about the same as a 34mm scope in 1" rings?

Any help finding a mag and help figuring out the scope mounting would be appreciated. This says HMR on the stock but the best I can figure it is a B-14, Is that the same as a Rem 700? I would assume short action if so. Can I just get rings that are 1 piece instead of rings and base? Do they make 40moa 1 piece rings? What ammo has everyone found shoot5s best in the Bergara? I have about 15 different choices from golden buckets to Eley, I hope to find something but am willing to try more.

These are nice rings that won't break the bank.

I put this Nightforce rail on my Bergara, 20 MOA, so you need more elevation in the scope than if you use a 30 MOA rail.
Depends on how far you shoot too, at West GA Precision it doesn't look like we'll shoot past 250 yards.

Bergara with Nightforce rail, TPS rings, PST Gen II scope, put an arca rail on it as well.

Is 20moa enough? I was thinking 40moa was what I needed
Depends on scope adjustment. My Vudoo has a 30 MOA rail and my Tract can get out just over 300 yards with 13.4 mils of elevation with a 50 yard zero.

But yea, 30 or 40 if you want or need to reach way out.

Ordered the Vortex Venom 5-25x56 scope Irishlad referenced earlier
I'd have to look up the elevation on this.

Ordered the Vortex Venom 5-25x56 scope

The Venom has 25mils total elevation capacity, which means on a flat rail, with standard velocity ammo, it will only reach ~225yrds before running out of elevator and holding in the reticle. Adding a 20moa rail only gets out to ~300-310yrds before running out of elevator. Since you’re shooting the same host ranges as @Walkalong, and he has mentioned getting out to 330-350yrds (pretty common max for NRL22/PRS-Rimfire matches), you’d really want at least 30moa to keep you dialable for distance RIGHT at 350yrds. Adding 60moa total may not let you zero at 50yrds, so the most I would recommend to maximize your utility of your scope would be 50MOA, which would let you dial out to about 420yrds before running out of elevator and still be zeroed at 50yrds.

So personally, with that scope for that task, I’d want at least 30moa, preferably 40 or 50 total. 55moa might not allow a 50yrd zero, and I’d be pretty positive 60moa won’t fit, so 50 is the safe upper bound.

Find something 30-50MOA you like and jump. Might need to combine angled base and rings/mount to get what you want. I use a lot of 20moa picatinny rails plus Burris Signature Zee and XTR rings to add more angle.

Are the Burris XTR rings my only option for 20 or 30 moa rings without going to the 1.5" AR mounts? 34mm tube. I have found 20 and 30 moa bases.
Are there any 40moa individual rings for a Rem700? I have a 700la that has rings but no base that looks clean.

With the Vortex Venom 5-25x56 and using a base should I be looking at 1" or 1.25" rings? I found a 40moa Nightforce X-Treme rail so I could use regular rings.

@rdnktrkr I can't answer your question with your choice of scope. But here is a photo of my Savage MkII with a DIP 25 MOA rail. I The scope is a Swampfox Patriot 6-24 scope and rings are Weaver 30mm Tactical medium rings. I have plenty of clearance between the end of the scope and barrel.

If I did my math correctly then the centerline of the rings to the bottom of the rings is 0.960"

Nice looking rig.
centerline to bottom being .960 with a 30mm tube and a 50mm bell (I think), The Vortex has a 56mm bell, Would it still fit with 1" rings?
Checked on the scope and it shows delivered by a different zip code than mine so now I have to research that Monday morning.:(

I tried the Swampfox rings that came with the scope (package deal sale) that are marked as Low with a height of 1.1" when I first mounted the Patriot scope on the DIP 25 MOA mount. The 1.1" rings were just a tad too high for my liking. The Patriot has a 50mm objective bell.
