I don't sleep well. Two or three hours at a time. Up for a few hours and repeat. No the caps were fine, I can't blame it on the caps. It split in the middle but didn't come apart. It was almost folded back on itself. I have no doubt if I had been shooting it it wouldn't have happened.
SAME! sleep & me hate each other!

SAME! sleep & me hate each other!

I will admit, in someone else's house, (especially in a town or city) or a motel I can't sleep past first light, and my sleep is very light. First night camping in a tent I'll not sleep well, wondering if each noise is a bear, then after the first night I'll sleep like a log, sometimes better than at home, if that is possible. Like, if the bear don't come the first night I'm safe. !!!!???

Can't remember the last time I ever had to sleep without a firearm within reach, maybe a hotel in Canada when me Mum was still alive, but I don't think I could do that now. That would be one dreamless, fitful night.

was camping in the Outer-banks, after 10pm it’s CREEPY. Had my Glock 23 and that didn’t help again the crazy ghost noise and hundreds of white crabs waiting for me to die.

what did I do, jumped in my car, drove the into town and slept in my car! lol

I don’t know… fortunes were made or increased over that war.

I enlisted. For reasons I didn’t really understand at the time and even now have a hard time articulating. I’m an old fart and sometimes still I wake up in the night afraid to fall back to sleep. When the nightmares are so real that I see, hear and smell everything as clearly as I did nearly sixty years ago. I’ll never forget any of it. Still, I’d do it again I’m afraid… It’s inexplicable. Maybe as General Lee is said to have said, “It is well that war is so terrible. We should grow too fond of it.” Semper Fi

Well, death war and taxes...some things never change. The "Nam was very complicated, I have studied it in depth for many years. You have to go back 100 years at least and study the region, and it's interactions with China and the Japanese, and then study through to WWI and WWII, then our involvement, and what was going on politically with Europe and the French to really get any grasp of it.

I’m pretty much the same. I sleep lightly, sleeping 6 hours is about all I can manage and I don’t sleep well the first night camping or traveling. Years ago when the kids were little I took them on a backpacking trip up to Hack lake. Had fun, hot dogs, s’mores and a snort of Jack for me and we bedded down under the stars around ten. We laid awake for an hour or so talking, and then fell asleep listening to a couple coyotes and looking up into the Milky Way… I slept fine until around midnight when I heard a noise. Sounded quiet but stealthy and then I could hear it breathing way too close. Reached under my pillow for my flashlight and just outside the bag for my .45. Flipped on the light and blinded a snowshoe hare…

that rabbit was like… what man, just wanted to cozy up too!!

I believe I was stalk by Big Foot on 2 different occasions

Ok… broad daylight in the deep woods here in the PNW during cooflu, me and my 3 yo son was picking berries in the summer. We were at a river bend with nice Tumble berry’s and raspberries. Picking and eating… all of a sudden, a horrible smell, like rotting meat and poop. Did not hear anything but I knew my STI .40 VIP with hard cast was not going to cut it. grabbed my son in one arm, .40 in the other, fired 2 shoot into the river (function test I guess) and pace my way out to my Prius on the main road. dam was i scared.

They don’t terrify me, used to scare my wife a good deal… I don’t like them and sometimes they’re so vivid that it takes a minute to know where I am but it’s not as bad as it used to be… I feel for those boys too. The ones who survive will have memories to last a lifetime.

Oakacroke where the natives sound like Ozzies right?

oooh yeah! also look at the

Elizabethan's of NC, who keep to them selfs and look straight out of 1776 England

Then the Lumbee Indian tribe, possable mix of the lost colony of Roanoke and native Americans. They are the biggest (in mass) of all native tribes!

I've never been in combat and my dreams normally don't scare me not even intense ones. Being in the woods at night isn't any cause for concern. I like the night sounds. I have had the crap scared out of me tho(not literally). I was working for a contractor at a huge Weyerhaeuser paper mill. We were dredging sludge out of small ash ponds at night and pumping it into a large sludge pond about 1/4 of a mile away. There were two of us. One on the dredge and one up at the sludge pond with a spotlight watching the outflow pipe. It was my turn at the outflow pipe. Now this pond is at the edge of the woods up a small hill. I'm sitting up there with a spotlight watching for deer and anything else I can see. Out in the edge of the woods something was moving around. From the sound of it something very big. It was snapping branches like no wild animal would. I shined the spotlight out towards the spot but couldn't see anything but the whatever it was stopped. After a few seconds it made a sound like a dove cooing....If you can imagine what a six foot tall dove would sound like. It was loud. I jumped back in the truck and hauled butt. I didn't go back up to the sludge pond at night for the rest of the winter.

crazy situation! even a gun won’t help you there

The only thing that's been reported anywhere around here is the three legged woman and that's about 10 miles north on a particular gravel road.
Three legged woman?, Is there a rest area where this three legged woman hangs out or is it a bar?
