Good evening!
A while back, though not too long, I started a thread about pistol vs carbine. I also promised to include data when I worked it up. You can find the original thread here: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=810127
Anyhow, I actually got somewhat higher velocities out of the carbine than I expected, but judge for yourself; will attach the final two files with another post. The "Acme red RN" are 115 grain HiTek coated, bullets made by Acme Bullet company; they are about 20 miles from where I live, and I can't say enough about their customer service; I had an issue with some of their 124 grain RN- not their fault, I was loading them a hair too long for the carbine and the owner invited me up to the shop, gave me a tour, and between us we worked out what was wrong with my loads. He even gave me a number of samples to try; for instance, a FP 122 to try instead of the 124 in the carbine, a RN 145 to try alongside the 147 FP I have used with great success, and some more of the 115 and some 185 SWC .45 to try instead of the 200 SWC I had been using. Do yourself a favor and check http://www.acmebullet.com/index.php?route=common/home
to compare prices; some of the best around that I've found.
I'll submit this, then another to attach the other two files. the things to look at:
ASR is the Aero Survival Rifle, 16.25 inch barrel; XD is a Springfield XD, 4" barrel, I used Blue Dot and W231, and the Acme 115 RN and the Extreme plated 115 RN. All were loaded with Sellier & Bellot SP primers
