I love my Glockie, but Glockie to thicky.

+1 :D

I have a 340PD that I load with .38 instead of .357. Its ok, but one day in the summer I bought a Kel Tec P3at and now I'm spoiled, it is getting cold and I still carry it and an extra mag in my pocket. it's like carrying a 2nd wallet.

I carry a 642 J-frame, but my next buy for carry is going to be a Glock 27, i love my J-frame, light, easy to conceal, but the 27 with the extended finger mag holds 9+1, to the 5 out of my J-frame, but i was carrying a full size 1911, just too heavy. and all i had money for was the J-frame, it definately works, but the 27 is soon to come.

Ooh ooh! A thread where I haven't posted this photo yet!

Here's my every day SP101 with the super comfy Hogue grip and the super handy Clipdraw. Every day, everywhere except work, and the kids' school.

I don't carry the Speed Strip anymore since I figured out that, with all the junk I normally carry in my pants pockets, an HKS speedloader isn't obvious.

Speaking of junk in the pants pockets, where do you guys who pocket carry put all that junk? I'm currently carrying a cellphone, keys, penknife, Seber multitool (tiny keychain multitool), keyring LED, folding knife and wallet. I don't know that I could pocket carry if I wanted to because then I would have to figure out what to do with the stuff that was in that pocket.

I've carried a full sized pistol (Glock 17) for 14 years untill a couple of months ago. I switched to a more compact pistol (Glock 30) for everyday carry in October. Its all about finding what your comfortable carrying everyday and matching it to your threat level.

I have my P32 Kel Tec 24/7 in a modified KD holster rear pocket carry. I know it's not "proper" to many, but it does go bang every time I pull the trigger & I don't have to do anything different to carry it.
Same here. Normally it's the Kimber UCDP, cross-draw, IWB or OWB, depending on circumstances and weather, the G26 in Kydex strong-side or even the H&K USP45c in several different variations, including DeSantis belly-band. But that P-32 remains in that back pocket, especially in our hot, humid Detroit summers.

A 3", Officers Size 1911 is just about the same size, and in some dimensions smaller than a Snubby. Some, like the Kimber Ultra Carry II, are made of alloy and are very light too. That is my choice.

My everyday carry at work is a P3AT in a Nemesis pocket holster; my duties and the clothing I wear make it the best choice. When I'm not at work, my EDC is either a CZ P-01, or a Springfield Champion 1911. In the summer, I can pocket-carry my MK9 when I'm wearing a t-shirt/tank top and shorts.

296+wallet etc = fannypack, bulldog = strong front pocket, NAA 22 = weakhand front pocket

I doubt the width of a Glock is greater than the diameter on the cylinder of a revolver.

If weight is the issue the revolver wins.
If less felt recoil and more ammo are the issues Glock 26/27 wins.

As far as pocket carry...

I carry a KT P-32 all the time in a pocket holster that also holds a spare mag, in my right rear pocket. Left rear pocket holds wallet and pocket comb. Left front pocket holds cigarette lighter, right front pocket holds change, with cold steel voyager II clipped to the rim of said pocket. My keys ride on a carabiner hanging from a belt loop, and cell phone rides in a belt holster. Left shirt pocket holds cigarettes and inkpen, right shirt pocket holds reciepts that need to be kept.

I carry a mix of guns, depending on the same mix of criteria that everyone seems to have, clothes, weather, threat index, etc. As stated earlier, the one that's always there is the P32. I also occasionally carry a .38 Spl S&W Model 10 w/ 4" bbl, loaded with gold dot +P+. It rides in a shoulder rig. Downside is that it makes a pretty good boat anchor, dragging on one side. If the load was balanced side to side, it wouldn't be bad. As a form of preposterous protest against ohio's silly open carry in vehicles law, I've got a quick snap nylon belt that I leave laying on the driver's seat, with a pair of crossdraw holsters on it. When I get in, I buckle it on, reach under the seat for my pistol case, and holster my pair of Ruger Super Blackhawks, .44 Mag, w/ 7.5" bbls. I remove whatever else I'm carrying, place it in the case, lock it up, and go on about my day. Almost as silly as the law that prompted it.

Hopefully HB 347 passes the senate this week.

I won't pretend that I've read this entire thread.

For the record, I haven't.

I got only to post #2.

My lean is towards a revolver, with my S&W 642 tops...
Bingo.

That was far enough for me.

It's on my side now. It's on my side everyday in the studio and at home.

SW 642.

What's in your wallet?

Duane Thomas wrote an article that really impressed me years ago. He talked about your basic battery of handguns. It went something like this:

1) Your everyday combat ccw.

2) Another much like #1 that stays in the safe until you are involved in an incident and someone confiscates #1. You are still carrying something much like your primary when you are carrying #2.

3) A BUG that can be carried in a pocket, boot, or offside.

4) A BBQ gun that can be carried when nothing else can be concealed.
Man, talk about an oldie but a goodie. My editor told me, BTW, that their reader surveys showed that article was the most popular piece in that particular issue of Handguns.

Glock 19, in a UCH tuckable holster every day.

My P3AT does not have the same reliability.

Flavors.

There are times when vanilla would be nicer, but if all you've got is chocolate, you've still got iced cream.

Remember that the mode of carry can be varied, as well as the gun.

For instance, I'm in the market for a 38spl derringer.. as well as a smartcarry for my P11. One or the other oughta cover those few situations where nothing else works *as well.
