Cartoon Shotguns: The Mighty Pump Double!

How come cartoon characters have more interesting shotguns than we do?
I'm thinking of THE SIMPSONS episode where Cletus the hillbilly racks the forearm of his double-barrel shotgun threateningly at the phony religious cult leader who fell on his roof. CLACK-CLACK!
I think maybe police chief Wiggums has appeared with the same type of super-shotgun.
This gun just might go all the way back to Elmer Fudd in the 1940's.
Can you imagine the firepower of a double-barreled pump shotgun?
I want one! In fact, the more I think about it, the more animated I become!
