Hi All.

Anyone know of a decent online source for cardboard boxes suitable for pistol and rifle calibers....no dividers necessary ...think of the older mil packed ammo box...

Mainly in the size of...:

.38 / .357
9mm
.45

.308
.30-06
.30-30

I HATE  plastic ammo boxes and seems to enjoy cardboard...call me crazy.....

Thanks for any links...!!

Look under "reloading" Go to "Ammunition boxes, carriers and labels"
+1 The cardboard ones with the styrofoam inserts work well.

Just out of curiosity, why do you hate the plastic boxes?
I don't know about him but they are expensive for general storage. I use plastic ones for the range and cardboard ones for general storage.

I use the Midway boxes; some (or all) are on sale right now:

There are various sizes, the above is for the 9mm size. I like 'em.

I use the plastic inserts for ring binders to label them so I can reuse them and not mess them up with stick-on labels, such as this:

NickJC,

I use 4X4X4 inch boxes from Victory Packaging, for pistol cases I cut the boxes with a paper cutter (sheer), for 30/06 I cut an inch off the top of the box and use for pistol, the bottom of the box I use for rifle, when organized in the box 80 30/06 cases can be stacked in rows of nine, if the box is not cut, the 4X4X4 inch box will hold 100 30/06 cases, I purchase the boxes in bundles of 20, the cost is between .20 and .25 cents each. to trim the boxes a case cutter and straight edge can be used. Victory has offices in most large cities, out West they are know as Golden state.

On the east coast try

When I need boxes for my ammo, I just head to my local gun club and check all the waste baskets, as there are usually some folks that just throw them away.:D LM

You guys are just too fast for me. I have been known to pick up boxes from the local indoor range for that purpose too. Perfect boxes with plastic or syrofoam dividers for all popular calibers at a reasonable price.....free!

Personally, I kind of like the plastic boxes, they label nicely, and can be used many times over again. I get a different color for each caliber so I know at a glance what it is. works for me.
