case of the missing pin!

Alright, i ordered a hogue monogrip for my taurus 66. Watched a video on how to install it. The guy in the video said that there is a pin behind the factory grips and to not lose it because it is important. When i took my factory wood grips off i saw that there was no pin! So the question now is what can i do? Could i go to the hardware store and get a pin that fits or what?

Or get a close diameter bolt or nail fat enough to turn down using a drill with a fine tooth flat file. It may be a standard diameter.

Id do to Ace Hdwe and get a split pin the dia. of the hole in the frame-a slight tapping should put it in place when reinstalling the factory grips

what you need is a roll pin, im sure you will have to cut it down as it will be too long
