Well...Dad and I used my Soddie Jr. to gut a nice fat doe with this morning. Worked like a charm....as if there was any doubt.

Picked this one up today. Nice and slim, fits my hand great. It was between this and the canoe, but I'm probably going to pick up the canoe also eventually, to keep as a strictly hunting knife.

I am not really a collector but I use and give Case stockmans to friends. My favorite is the 18 pattern 3 5/8" . Some times the larger 47 pattern 3 7/8. I recommend the stainless for most people and uses, but my favorite is the economical yellow comp with CV . Sharpens easily.
I put Birchwood Casey gun blue on the CV blades for the heck of it, it seems to help prevent tarnish a bit when riding in the rain . Some people go for an antique aged look by soaking them in catsup or stabbing them into fruit.
