I'm short. And for a long time I put up with the fixed A2 stock on my rifle. But I always wanted something just a little shorter.

I could have gone to a collapsible stock but my rifle is somewhat of a utility rifle that serves both a defense and sporting purpose. For that reason I wanted to keep a fixed stock for its simplicity and for the storage space in the stock where I keep a cleaning kit.

I did a lot of research before I chose the C1 stock and I'm glad I did. There were a lot of reviews that I read that weren't favorable towards the C1 at first glance. The largest complaint was that the standard A2 butt plate didn't fit the C1 stock as advertised. I didn't have that problem with my model. My old A2 trap door mounted up snug quickly and easily without any work using the included shortened allen screw.

The C1 is 5/8" shorter than the A2 and at first I wondered if the the 5/8" difference in length would make that big of a difference. But after shouldering the rifle a couple times I found that for me, it really does. I'm able to get behind my rifle a lot easier than I was able to before. I don't need to blade my body at an angle or crane my neck forward to get close to the sights. The stock also weighs less than the standard A2 so the rifle is now lighter as well. As an added bonus, the stock space in the C1 is much larger than the A2.

Overall I am a pleased customer who considers the $30 cost of the stock worthwhile.

Thank you.

The upper is a palmetto state armory mid-length dissipator that I bought during their Obama upper sale right after the election.
