CBS RADIO HEAD ORDERS 'MUST CARRY' TO STATIONS FOR CLINTON BOOK SPECIAL

**Exclusive**

Move over Rush Limbaugh!

Bill Clinton is set to hit the talkradio waves with a live special promoting his new book -- one that CBS has ordered a "must carry" directive for all of its news affiliates, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

MORE

Each and every one of CBS's news and talk stations will be required to take the Clinton book radio special, now scheduled for next 6 PM ET Thursday -- whether local programming management wants it or not!

"It's going to be like one big commercial for the book! Why didn't Mr. Clinton's publisher just buy an hour," one angry executive for a CBS news station said late Monday. "This is not news, this is marketing. I already feel dirty!"

Other CBS radio excutives are excited about Clinton finally appearing on live talkradio.

"I can't wait for the callers," said one CBS radio suit.

The one hour session titled "CLINTON CONNECTS WITH AMERICA" will be moderated by CBS EARLY SHOW host Harry Smith.

The program appears to be part of a larger cross-promotion platform package with Clinton and CBS parent VIACOM.

The former president is set to sit with CBS's Dan Rather at the Clinton library in Arkansas for Sunday's CBS 60 MINUTES.

There should be enough methane out of that self-congratulatory pile of crud to drop energy prices to historic lows.

Clinton = herpes; it keeps coming back.

On a side note to this thread, I had just turned my radio on while on the way to work this morning and caught the middle of a poll. I didn't hear who made the poll, but it was regarding what news source the majority of surveyed people trusted the most. The winners? CBS News and the 60 Minutes Program. :barf:

It's all over the shrillary book bomb. Remember that they had the news of "all the long lines" and then, within a week, her book fell of the best sellers top ten.

You don't see or hear of her book any longer, I'm assuming there isn't enough blissnannies out there that really wanted it.

Ol' bill don't wish to go down the same path. He has to be on the top ten for at least a month so that the dems can "rebuild his legency".

I'm surprised that the memo didn't order all employees to buy the book so the ratings will go up.

In August of (IIRC) 1997, CBS had a one-hour special of an interview--one-on-one--between Dan Rather and President Clinton. Now, my opinion of Clinton is irrelevant. What I found disgusting was the toadying on Rather's part. A primary reaction of mine at that time was that no grown man should behave in a such a worshipful, sycophantic manner toward anybody at all, much less as a professional reporter with a political figure.

Given that the network approved that program (really, a one-hour info-mercial), I'm not surprised at this decision...

Folks, this "Library" honest to goodness looks like a trailer. I kid you not, I've seen real nice trailers in trailer parks that have more class and architecture...

Can I please come down and visit with Someone, anyone...Smoke? Art?...Heck I'll drive any direction...I'm beggin' ya. I can handle one of these characters ...don't want to try both...The stores have already sold out of Pepto Bismol...

Watching such idiocy as this upcoming 60Years would be just as thrilling as picking at scabs. I have better things to do, like taking the BossLady out to dinner...

("I wanna go someplace expensive!" "Okay. We'll go to the gas station first, THEN McDonald's.")

I wasn't able to find a photograph. Here is an artist's rendering:
