OK another CCW angle. I carry either sho rig in winter .... 4 o'clock Fobus in Spring (like now) and then go to snubby, use of fanny pack etc ... when hot.

I keep wallet in rear right pocket ..... and there are many times when I have to be careful how I reach in and pull out ... without ''showing'' anything. Trying to be subtle.

I guess IWB is way to go but i do not get on with this at all, never have ....

How do y'all cope .... with the ''wallet pull''??:p

BTW, pants pocket never appeals either to me ... the weight seems to ''pull'' too much.

I too have had that concern when pulling out my wallet. However after practicing in front of a mirror a bunch, I've found that at worse you might see the clip from my holster, but most people wouldn't recognize it as a holster.

Then again if someone ever demands my wallet it will make drawing my gun instead much easier :)

Mostly carry IWB, strongside. BUG is IWB weak-side.

Wallet, nothing much in mine except ID's. Plan ahead if going to need and put in front pocket.

High Risk areas I don't carry a wallet period. Money clip for 30+ years. Plan ahead and have smallest amount ready for purchase.
Flash a wad /fat wallet/bunch of credit cards...attracts attention. IMO

I generally carry at the 4 o'clock position and keep the wallet in a front pocket. It is easier for me to get my wallet and eliminates the possibility of uncovering my firearm.

My solution

I carry my wallet in my front, strong-side pocket. IWB strong side at 4:00 o'clock. This eliminates unintentional flashing, also has the benefit of making it harder for a pickpocket to purloin my hard-earned cash.

I have learned to keep my wallet in my left hip pocket, not my right anymore. If I am carrying OWB on the right side this works well. The only thing I might reveal is my mag carrier on the weak side.

I used to carry my wallet in my right rear pocket. When I started carrying a firearm IWB on my right side at about 4 o'clock I had to switch sides for my wallet. But I just couldnt get used to it there. My wallet is bulky. So I got an Id wallet with a money clip on it. I put my DL, CWP, and bank card in it and cary it left rear and just left my real wallet in my car with all the unimportant crap in it. This solved my problems..

I purchased a Hedley "Back-Pocket" model. (In fact, I bought two!) It has an "anti-print" panel that spreads & stays in your back pocket when you draw. (Every time.) The anti-print panel makes the holster look just like a wallet.

If you carry strong side your wallet should be on weak side...you do not wnat to tie up your gun hand should you ever be mugged

Thin wallet in left front shirt pocket (buttoned) and money clip in left front pants pocket. Works for me.

I almost always carry IWB. But if I don't, I just take the things out of my wallet that I will need. For example, if I go to the bank to deposit cash, I take out my cash and place it in my front pocket.

I worry about someone seeing mine getting my wallet out all the time. I usually try to get my wallet out before I get to the cash register. Or I will take a look around to see who is close to me then I'll turn my wallet side a way from the cashier, no problems so far. Bank deposits I usually go to the drive through so I don't have to worry.

Even IWB causes me wallet problems...

Not "showing" the weapon, but the barrel of the weapon inside my pants is usually just above my back pocket, providing a big hump that gets in the way of getting my wallet out of my back pocket in the first place. With cheaper IWB holsters (like Uncle Mikes) I have even nearly pushed my CCW up out of it's holster trying to dig for my wallet. There's a FIST Kydex on the way now, so that won't happen any more.

I can't switch sides with the wallet, because it causes me to sit funny in the right rear pocket, which gives me lower back pain after a few hours.

I had a Hedley holster for my ex-P32... But since I've carried my wallet in my left rear pocket for EVER, I kept reaching in and nearly pulling out the Hedley rig at cash registers :what: It's a great rig, but my habitual nature just made it a bad idea for me.

I carry IWB, right side and wallet left side - cash in money clip in front right pocket.

The wallet on the left side helps "balance" things.

I think this ''creature of habit'' may just have to try wallet on left ... not so easy at my age!

I do tho often take ''prelim measures'' like gettin it out in advance and even using top shirt pocket and .... at times I too have had the barrel of the piece make for a ''fight'' gettin it out from right.!

Thx for all comments . Really helps to get input on this sorta thing.

I carry my wallet in my left rear pocket -- always have.

It helps conceal the bulk of the cylinder of my old stainless Chief's Special, carried at 8 o'clock, butt forward inside my waistband (when I carry this weapon).

Oh, yeah, that bulge in my right rear pocket is my Kel-Tec P-32 in a wallet holster.

I don't carry a wallet, I carry some money and a couple cards in a CRKT PECK used as a money clip in my left (weak side) front pocket.

Harder for pick pockets and there has been a lot of research to show that wearing a wallet, esp a big 'ol thick one, in a back pocket every day isn't good for ones back. I never liked carrying a wallet but this research gives me something to say when guys make fun of me for not carrying a wallet.

Of course, I carry a fairly big knife in my back pocket... :uhoh:

I'm right handed, and I've always carried my wallet in my left rear pocket. Shave and brush my teeth with my left hand as well, in case anybody cares. ;)

There are several techniques associated with concealed carry that help a lot, and with practice become second nature.

1. Wallet goes in the off-side rear pocket. If you check, you'll see most pants have a button on that side, but often not on the right.

2. Don't swing back the coat to reach the wallet (or pocket) -- lift the hem of the coat.

3. Squat, don't bend when picking things up.

4. Reach for high items with the left, not the right hand.

Reason #12 that cargo pockets are excellent - no risk of showing weaponry while extracting wallet. I really need the cargo pockets anyway because I have a LE size wallet (one of my IDs is FBI size) and the wallet would stick out of a back pocket.

Not to mention the fact that any items that you routinely carry in back pockets either develop the "butt curve" or are very uncomfortable to sit on!

My wallet goes in the back, weak-side pocket. Took a little getting used to, but it's no problem now.
