Just got a new IWB holster while waiting on my CCW to arrive in the mail. Been wearing it arround the house with a full sized 1911. Right side at about 4:30, where it seems to hide best. Noticed though that my wallet, which I carry in right rear pocket better be small if I don't want it and the holster to get in a shoving match. Does this happen to anyone else? Do most who carry IWB carry billfolds on the opposite side? Maybe its just these pants but was wondering. Thanks

What Smoke said.

I use a money clip in right front pocket for bills, and a small two window ID case for DL, CCW, and a couple of credit cards (carried anywhere but right rear pants pocket).

I had to change carring my wallet from the right side to the left side. Takes some getting used to I must say.

This is especially true when carrying OWB. I carry bigger guns than most I think. Glock 30 (.45) or S&W 13-4 (.357mag) If I can use a cover shirt I like to carry OWB. Even IWB I don't like to be pulling my shirt up when reaching for my wallet.

Unlike some I hate to carry things in my pockets. Have a small lockblade knife in right front pocket. Wallet in left rear and keys in left front. cell phone is stuck somewhere on belt on left side. That's it. Extra mags etc. are in truck along with 30-30. Just have to hope I can make it to truck.

Man, I'm talkative today,

I switched from a wallet to a leather business card case. Holds DL, CCW, credit cards and a few bucks, drops in any pocket.

The LEO that instructed my CCW class advised against this type of carry for a different reason. If you have an encounter with a Police Officer and inform him/her that you have a permit and are carrying concealed on your right hip you wouldn't want to have to reach for your right rear pocket for your wallet (ID and permit). Made sense to me.

I reduced my "carry on baggage" a couple years ago and switched to front left pocket for security reasons. Several times I had found my wallet partially pushed out of the back pocket by various types of seating.

I used to be right rear pocket for wallet .. for so long, I could not envisage a change ..... I asked about it here many months ago.

Answer - of course ... switch to left!! I did and am now ''programmed'' to point where it is now natural. I enjoy being able to flick back my shirt on left to go for wallet - exposing no more than leatherman!!

I carry most of time 3.30 to 5.30 depending on piiece but know now that I do not have to be mega careful as I once was when wallet on right. If I at my age can change ... anyone can!!:p :)

So move the wallet. Back pocket isn't a good place for your wallet anyway. It's bad for your back and easy to steal, but IMO, IWB behind the hip is the only way to carry. The wallet can be carried anywear. Sheeple don't freak out when they see your wallet.

very true, on one occassion when i was in a crowded McDonalds in india (most things are crowded in india) a few times people walked behind me an quickly patted my right backside before ducking downstairs so i couldn't get a look at them. it was probably a team of pickpockets and this was their fishinghole. they didn't get anything because i don't use my back pocket for anything cept my cigarette case sometimes. backpocket carry of any type has a way of making one sit slightly tilted, i can't get used to it and it's probably bad for the spine anyway.

I carry both gun and wallet on my right side without problem. I thought the extra weight on my right side might pose a problem for my lower back, but found it natural to switch my check book to the left side and carry spare ammunition on that side, as well.

I used to carry my wallet on the right side years ago but switched to the left side since I now carry my Beretta Alleycat on the right side in a DeSantis "Trickster" holster for deep CCW. (Funny, after all these years no one's ever commented on my carrying 2 "wallets"...)

I used to carry a back pocket wallet, chocked full of the family pictures and assorted crap. I experienced the problems you mentioned and got tired of sitting on a brick all the time. Like others here, I got a very small moneyclip/ID holder. It had a window on one side to dsiplay ID and the money clip onb the back. I can also get my permit in there and one credit card. It goes in the front pocket, which I am told is much harder to pick than a back pocket.

I second getting one of these money clip/thin wallets and carrying it in your front pocket. I got a decent leather and canvas one (In tactical black) at wallyworld for the Bank Busting price of $5.

...COMMON SENSE CARRY

I use a "CCW" wallet I found in one of the gun mags. It's about the size of a business card holder, but carries ID, some folding money & a couple of credit cards without producing the "Wallet Butt Syndrome".

Goes in my left front pocket so I can produce it without flicking back my left overshirt or sport coat to reveal my left-side fobus double magazine carrier.
