CCW holders, I have a question for you?

Momma and Daddy didn't raise me to be a victim...

I got my permit a while back while in a shooting league. I've been shooting guns all my life and as I mentioned Mom and Dad didn't raise me to be a victim. You can have my car or wallet but I won't let you harm my family or me if it is in my means to prevent it. Plain and simple.

CCW Reasons

I lived in NYS where it was required to have a CCW to even own a gun. I loved shooting and wanted to own a pistol. When I got the liscence it was restriced to hunting and target use only. This pissed me off, so when I moved to VA I was able to get one. But during that time I saw a few stories and started reading packing.org... Now I am an instructor for CCW and I am active politically... Basically NYS's restrictive gun laws created a monster.

I have a theory that as my baby boomer generation ages we will be viewed by a large young, underclass gang population as ripe pickings - old and (relatively) affluent. I'm determined not to be some scumbag's prey.

Fell in love

For a along time wasn't interested in guns, then finally listened to a friend who was a FFL and decided to try buying one. Fell in love with them, learning to repair and modify, found out more and more about them, discovered so many of my friends had CCW and a wide varity of firearms. The things that really made my mind up. I have a responsibility to my family and community to help make a place that they feel safe in and that someone is watching out for them. I don't trust my government to prevent harm coming to my family, and I was sick and tired of having to get a "purchacing permit" MI. law, to buy one. With a CCW you can buy what you want as long as you present it for safety insp. to local gov. within 10 days of purchase.

Why? Because rights have a funny way of disappearing on you when you fail to exercise them.

XDn, no traumatic event led me to a decision to carry concealed. I have family members who live in a dangerous city and around the outer city limits, where having a pistol on one's side maybe ain't such a bad idea. If they want my company, I'm packing, and nobody's going to tell me I can't because once they do, I won't visit.
