Tried searching around, but couldn't find a definitive answer.

Does anyone know if concealed carry is specifically prohibited at the University of Iowa Hospital/Clinic? I've heard there is quite a bit of debate over concealed carry at the University, but not sure if that extends to the Hospital, or there's something else that would apply.

Thanks!

This article seems accurate and well informed, but I have learned from past experiance not to believe or trust what is repoted in the press. Like i said this article seems good to go with the infomration reported by the press but sometimes .... not so much...

Hhmmm... So according to that article, it seems as though the "weapon free zone" applies to both the university & hospital portion....

Ugh...

I would ask the university and / or the hospital... making sure I was asking someone in authority who knew what they were talking about...

Having aged eyesight, the letters of the Constitution were much easier to read than those newer, smaller letters of the 'Gun Free Zone" signs. :D

Yes, carry is prohibited at the U of I. If you check Iowa code 724 it states that carry is denied at any school or college, public or private.

If the hospital has nursing students, or residents in training, or any other students training there, then it can be considered an extension of the school.
