Not sure what's confusing about the web site. The state data for FL does say that some states choose not to honor the FL permit unless it's a resident one.

here in michigan, ANY TIME you aproach, or are aproched by a LEO (for any reason), you MUST inform him / her IF you are carrying and show your permit. if you are not carrying, my cpl instructor told us it would be a good idea to tell them that i did have a permit, but was not carrying at that time. something about the cpl license showing up on their computer when they run my drivers license. it is supposed to make them more comfortable to know wheather or not i am carrying. if the LEO is just walking past, you are ok. no big deal to me. i have no problem with leo's knowing i have it. as far as i am concerned, we are on the same side. i just don't want everyone else to know! some people FREAK over the littlest of things.

So far, I have just used my VA one for NC and WV. No problems in either case. However, in NC if a business has a sign posted prohibiting carry one has to comply. Saw this at the hotel entrance in the 2nd floor parking lot. Front door didn't have one, so I didn't worry about it.

Michigan is in the large minority.
Of the 50 states all but 2,Illinois and Wisconsin allow concealed carry.
39 states are shall issue.
9 are may issue.Of course it is almost impossible in several of these may issue states such as Hawaii,Maryland and NJ to acquire a permit.Nevertheless:
Of these 48 states ,only 9 require a CHP holder to tell the LEO that you are carrying with a permit upon a traffic stop.Its a felony if you lie in many of these 9 states.
The states are:
1.Alaska
2.Louisiana
3.Michigan
4.North Carolina
5.Ohio
6.Oklahoma
7.South Carolina
8.Texas
9.Utah

But it is lawmakers in 39 of the 48 shall or may issue states saying you don't have to reveal you have a permit with a traffic stop.
Some of those states probably have a few bright people.
But,you may be right.Is intelligent lawmaker a oxymoron?

was driving through georgia and he was mine when i reached for my wallet(pulled over for not wearing my seat belt) and and asked to see my permit, all was well and just a warning for the seatbelt(i had just taken it off to reach something in the backseat at a redlight and hadn't put it back on yet)
