Both my illinois and utah cards are coming up for renewal soon. Utah in nov and IL this coming march. I live in IL .
I've read the websites about renewal. Both say they will send renewal notifications/forms in the mail prior to expiration. For IL this is all still new so its hard to say what exactly will happen, but what has been your experience with the Utah renewal?
Thanks. I'm just getting antsy as the dates approach!

Utah will send all notifications (including renewal or suspension notices) to the address provided by the applicant. If it is expired more than 30 days, there is a $7 extra fee. If it is expired more than one year, you have to start all over. They require new photos, but....I have gotten away with sending old ones in before. They do NOT need to be on photo paper. You can take a selfie against a white wall, shrink it close to size, print it on regular paper, and send it in. They are going to scan it and custom size it anyway. Right now they are not particularly backed up, they should turn it around in a few weeks, maybe a bit more.

I have a Utah non resident, They mail you a reminder, you mail them a check. I believe it was only $7.00.

Yes, Utah will mail a reminder about 6 weeks before your current permit expires. The cost for the non-resident renewal is now $25 ($20 for resident renewal) as of July 1. And the renewal process can now be done online if you prefer - you can upload the photo.

Utah will remind you ,I just renewed mine they sent me the reminder and paperwork. Florida now requires fingerprints with renewal, but you need to do it on the supplied card ,and you local law enforcement must take the prints and sign the form.:thumbup:

FWIW... I submitted my Utah non-res permit renewal online on July 23 and received my new card on August 6. Pretty good turnaround.

I also renewed my Utah online. New card was at my door in a couple weeks. You can't renew more than 60 or 90 days prior to the expiration date.

I let my Utah lapse after MN deep-sixed reciprocity for Utah.(The only reason I got it; I rarely go to the Twin Cities anymore, but I'd rather carry when I do) I need to get an MN one, just haven't taken the class yet.
