CCW: unloaded, revolvers, ankle holsters, etc.? Time to rethink?

I have no idea why anyone would want to carry a single action revolver, why is that even an option here?

Principally, because they are tiiiny. Much easier to conceal. Not ideal as a general concealed carry weapon, though, for many reasons.

Any reloads you carry probably should be of the New York variety.

Can you please elaborate?

He means carrying a spare gun.

Some days I carry a CZ97 with 3 mags. 31 rounds of 45 hardball feels good. But its damn heavy and a trick to conceal.

My everyday carry is a DAO SP101 .357, with a speedloader, IWB. I can hide this on my skinny frame under a tshirt. For everyday carry, I feel this is sufficient. I feel that my SA is high enough that I'm not going to get jumped by 15 thugs. If I do...well, I know at least 2 or 3 of them is going down with me. Even if I had a hi-cap auto, and got jumped by 15 thugs...what would change? Nothing. 2 or 3 of them would go down with me. I have no John Woo fantasies of dropping half the city's criminal population while sliding down bannisters, pistols akimbo.

And, it all comes down to choice. We're Americans. We can carry whatever the heck we want, (some restrictions apply, not valid in all states), and we do! :D

A Glock 26 in a Galco ankle glove or an Alessi ankle holster gives you eleven 9mm JHPs. It is a slow draw if you're standing, but frankly I spend most of my life sitting down anymore, and belt holster can be very awkward when sitting down.

It is placing you at a disadvantage if your opponent(s) carries substantially more ammo than you do, or is a much better shot than you are.

Or they don't go down with a few hits, or there are a lot of them, or they are moving and you are moving and you have a few misses, or well you get the idea

My current 3 ccw weapons in warm weather are 638 J frame Smith, 22 mag NAA Black Widow, and a P32 all but the Smith marginal calibers. This though is not as problematic as using an ankle holster IMO. I know some here swear by them I swear at them. We each have are reasons. Ask yourself this question. If someone walks up to you on the street and confronts you with a weapon and yours is in an ankle holster what would you do? I know what I would do because it happened to me.
