So I downloaded the CDNN catalog and I was wondering about the EAA Compact Polymer 45 they have on sale for $259. Is this a good gun? Also how expensive/readily available are spare mags for it?

I have heard that dealing w/ the manufacturer for a problem is terrible. People on some of these forums have essentially said they have been told tough luck...

I've got the full size Witness Polymer .45 from CDNN. Very good gun for the money. I think extra mags for the compact are going to be a bit more of a problem. For the full size, CZ97 mags work perfectly and Mec-Gar makes Witness .45 mags that work most excellently in both my Witness and CZ97.

I've never had to deal with EAA but from the dis-organized and unhelpful web site they have I'd not expect much.

The EAA Witness series is made by Tanfoglio in Italy, for several years their pistols were used by several world champion shooters. They are very good for the price, most have decent triggers from the factory and they tend to be very accurate. I have a Witness P in 9mm that has been a very accurate and reliable pistol for the past 4-5 years.

Tanfoglio is a great company, EAA has some bad reports but I have not had to deal with them myself.

he mags for my older polymer frame pistol are different then steel frame gun and tend to run $25-30, check CDNN's price, it's probably as good as you will get.
