Hi all. I've been thinking about ordering a Lanber 2087, 30'' 12ga from CDNN. You can't beat the price, and the Lanber company has a great reputation (this 2087 would be a clays gun...if anyone knows that this gun is NOT good for clay shooting, please don't hesitate to tell me!!). What I am a little hesitant about is that CDNN sells the "blemish" models, which is the reason as far as I know for the price cut. Has anyone bought from CDNN before, and if so, what condition was the product in? I don't mind a cosmetic imperfection here and there, but if the barrels are all scratched up, the wood is covered with dings, etc etc that would not make me happy. Yeah, I know, they don't make the gun shoot any worse, but it's still a pain. Maybe I'm too OCD about it, but I digress.

Milsurp vendors like AIM surplus have a "hand pick" option, where they can pick out a gun in better condition for ten bucks more. Does CDNN do anything like this? I'd happily part with ten dollars for the peace of mind in knowing that my new gun will not look like it lost a fight with a wood chipper.

Thanks very much for your help and your time!

I've ordered from CDNN a number of times and found everything to be in as-described or better condition. Their shipping is really fast as well. Call them and talk to one of their salespeople, I believe they will be truthful with you.

They are a legit outfit with some great deals. I also recommend talking to one of their cordial and well informed staff. They'll shoot straight with you.

Great outfit to deal with. Prices are good, turnaround excellent, and they always seem to stuff a couple of neat toys in with your order!

First rate company all the way around. Well informed staff to talk to, really fast service, and a no hassle return policy.

I've bought from them and been very happy. I introduced them to my father and he has bought quite a few guns from them and has always been very pleased. It is a top notch outfit.

Great to deal with. I've ordered two rifles and various other items. Courteous, fast shipping and they stand behind their products.

I'll chime in as well with a positive review for the CDNN crowd. I've bought from them a dozen times or more and have always been more than satisfied with the quality of the merchandise, the prices, and the fast shipping. I've also found the personnel to helpful when you talk with them on the telephone, and you can't say that about everyone who's operating out there today.

If only all on-line shopping was as honest and effective. They've been meeting a lot of my needs for a long time.

Thanks everyone for the advice! I will definitely consider them as long as I can sell this old camera stuff first! Got to trade old toys for new toys.

One more question though...how exactly does one go about purchasing a firearm online? I've only ever done it over the counter. Would I need to fax CDNN a copy of my local guy's FFL, and then they send the shotgun to him and I pick it up there? I don't see anything regarding purchases on their website.

Take care

You have to call them, if they don't already have your transfer dealer's FFL on file, he'll have to send it to them first, then they will charge your credit card and ship the gun to him for transfer to you.

No on-line gun sales at CDNN, you need to call for their printed catalog.

CDNN Email list is a must-have!

Don't forget to sign up for their email list either. I get at least one email a week from them with some pretty good deals.

OK, I will call them and see if the shop is on file. I can't imagine it wouldn't be...this is the LL Bean flagship store, the one that's open 24/7/365. Someone must have transferred a firearm from CDNN through them at one point in their history! And if not, I'll have them send or fax a copy, it can't be that hard.

I've purchased from them a few times and the items arrived fast and the prices were good. The only "negative" is that once they get your email, they start sending you 2 or 3 advertisements a week!

Not true they've had my Email for 10+ years and I never get Email from them other than order and shipping confirmations.

They have a checkbox on the web order form to receive "specials" Email or not, I recall by default it is not checked.
