A recent post regarding Century has caused me to ask whether Century really puts together all their guns. I've heard all the bashing of Century Arms "trained monkeys" etc. and certainly some of that is warranted, but some of their stuff is really good. I've noticed the D.C.I. receivers are built like tanks (must be 1.6mm) and fit and finish is good. It seems like the lesser built guns are in batches like they have been subcontracted out or perhaps a slacker had been hired. A friend of mine is a Class II manufacturer and had 500 AK receivers he was putting underfolders on. He said he couldn't tell me the company he had been subcontracted by due to terms of the contract so I know this goes on.

regardless, it sounds to me as if CAs does not like to take responsibility for their product. check out their "new warranty" (no date) and their 'observation' on the 5.45 cartridge.
CA probably does contract out a good bit (if not all) of their work. most all companies do. usually, it's cheaper to pay some one to to the job wrong and then pay some one to fix the problem than it is to pay some one to do the job wright the 1st time. that is, as long as you don't have to warranty the work to begin with.
