CFE Pistol?

I would add to my above post it is not what I would choose for .38 or light medium .357 but it will work.
I didn't test powder forward/powder back/powder neutral when I used it in those 2 and with the low case fill I can see how it could be position sensitive.
I would agree BE86 is a better choice for those 2.

I don't think it's extremely well documented by Hodgdon. One single load for 124gr 9mm and only 2 for 115gr. I bought it based on the ad campaign and regretted it as soon as I got home and found that out. No one's excited about it. No one's saying it's going to replace their use of (insert name here). Never seen anyone say they used it up and went back for more.

The whole thing was a money grabbing sales gimmick as far as I can tell.

I bought more CFE-P, like it for FP .380 shoots well for me mid high to high in 9mm, good vels in .45 at High side of the charge range.
So in my book CFE-P does get a buy again.
Looks like Hodgdon lists about 8 loads using it in 9mm for 90gr to 147gr bullets.(at least the last time I looked)

I bought an 8 lber. back when shelves were fairly bare. It gets used often in 380 auto, 9mm, and some in 45 auto. I'll keep stock of CFE-P like I do of Silhouette.
I haven't tried it in 38 or 357 yet. Next time I get around to loading some 40s, I plan on trying some loads in lead and plated with CFE-P.

Twice now ive ransom rest tested full workups of CFE loads and is has the best results of the 5 different powders ive tested so far. Im excited and will be looking to replace my current powder with it.

I've just finished up my first 8 pounds of CFE Pistol and purchased another 8. I have no comparison basis as CFE is the only powder I've used in my short reloading time frame. I'm loading .380Auto with Extreme 100gr RNFP, 9mm with Extreme 124gr RN and .40S&W with Extreme 165gr RNFP. I'm using the published load data from Hodgdon or the insert that came with my Lee Reloading dies. I tend to load a grain or two above the minimum numbers use CCI primers.

I believe the CFE meters consistent as I may get a +/- 0.1 to 0.05 on drops. The loads seem to shoot fine based on feel and accuracy (no chrono data) and the smoke/flash is acceptable. After a practice session my pistols are relatively clean. I just switched over to RMR bullets, I'm not expecting any noticeable changes.

I also use the CFE223 for my .223/AR-15 loads using 55 to 75 grain bullets. No complaints or concerns through 4 pounds thus far.

Love CFE-P for my 40. Run 165 plated in it also. Liked Xtreme's plated only due to that the bullet length didn't make a wild swing up and down like RMR's did (lesson learned, not all bullets are plated equally). Going to try Everglades for 40, just for giggles, price seems right.
Have not tried any of the CFE 223 yet, sorta happy with the H335, but a pound for trial might be in the next PV order.
