I have been loading 45ACP on an old CH AutoChamp for 4-5 years. I have switched out the powder system to use a Lee Auto Disc in station 2, and I have had good results. I have loaded several thousand rounds with this setup, but I have consistently fought the primer system. I tyically use WLPs, and they would hang up when the pickup slide was back and I would have to take it apart to free the wedged primer. I also had issues with Winchester primers not liking to seat in Winchester brass. It was almost as if the primers would hang up and deform a little and then not want to seat. On a whim I switched to CCI primers and this thing runs like a top now. Is there something with the WLPs that would cause this? Anyone else have this experience?

Welcome to THR!

Another C-H user here. I use 205 single stage along with 2 "H" type presses and 502 micrometer powder measure but use them mainly for load development as I have several progressive presses for higher volume production.

As to your priming problem, check to make sure they do not have crimped primer pockets. Picture below shows CBC/Winchester/Federal cases with varying amounts of crimp. If the primer pockets are crimped, the crimps will need to be removed or you will have difficulty seating primers.

I do not have problems seating Winchester LP primers (brass colored cups) in Winchester brass with uncrimped primer pockets.
