I recently moved. If you have an Indiana CCW permit, you've probably seen the line that says you must notify the state police within 60 days of any change in address. Of course, it doesn't say HOW to notify the state police, only that you;re required by law to do so.

So, have any of you Hoosiers out there ever had to change the address on your carry permit? How'd you do it?

I asked at my local police station, and they couldn't help me.

Don't live in IN, but I would imagine you need to contact the licensing division of the State Police, see if you can find a ph# for the State Police headquarters, they should be able to connect you to the right people.
Option #2 is contact someone who deals with CCW training (such as the place you got your initial training done)

Who issues the original permit in Indiana? In Oregon, for instance, the actually CCW permit is issued by the county of residence. So, in Oregon, when you move you must contact the county in which you are newly resident and give them the pertinent change of address info. Contact the agency that is responsible for issuing the original permit - then contact them and follow thru.

I did. I called the Firearms Division at the ISP and told them that I moved and how to proceed according to the note on the permit. They told me that I had just informed them and that was good enough. If I wanted a new permit with my new address I would need to send them I think $20 for the replacement, but the original was fine.

Call them to make sure that's still the way it is though. :)

Call the Firearms Licensing Section at 317-233-5054 ...

you will need to either write them a letter (they will tell you what info is required in it and their address).

or

You can go in person to the State Office building and update your address.

There is no chanrge to change your address however there is a $5 fee if you want a duplicate license with your new address on it.
