I have never even paid much attention to daly before but a buddy of mine won a charles daly 12ga the other day at a raffle. I picked it up and messed around with it for a while and It was so light, and shouldered well. Weighs about as much as an airsoft gun! Well I know this is the handgun section so how are the daly 1911's and the zda's. The zda's look alot like sig's. Does anyone have any experience with either of these pistols. or even thier shotguns for that matter? Thank you all!

I have shot a Daly 1911 at the range. I admired the small groups a guy was getting with his, and he let me shoot it. I dunno anything about durability, but there was nothing wrong with accuracy. It may have had an aftermarket barrel, though...

I'm not sure on the Daly 1911's but I know they are made in the Phillipines by Armscor....Armscor 1911's have impressed me thus far especially thier "loaded" model.

I've a 4" stainless EMS and a 3" blue CS. Use the search, I've posted my experiences. In summary good guns for the money and I recieved good service from KBI when the right side ambi safety lever on the EMS broke, and great service from API when my RIA had a slide lock lever that didn't lock back with all my mags. Triggers are way better than you'd expect for the price and shooting them along side my much more expensive Kimbers makes me wonder what I really got for the extra $$$.

I've over 10X the rounds thru the Armscor and Daly guns compared to the Kimbers as why put wear and tear on the expensive guns when these shoot just as well for me. Maybe with much more expensive ammo than I'm willing to buy in volume and a Ransom rest you could claim the Kimbers are "better" and "worth it" but certainly not for the steel plates I shoot. I got the Daly EMS on a lark, not really expecting much, and was so pleased with it I've stocked up on Armscor guns to save wear and tear on my Colts and Kimbers.

Why save the Kimbers? Shoot them and enjoy them and get your moneys worth its gonna take awhile to wear one out, I can understand a little more on the Colts , unless they are collector guns or something special. I say blast away, You want to save them Thats great , Just my 2 cents worth. You would prob give me a nickle to keep my 2 cents out.

It is my understanding that they are assembled in the USA from Armscor made parts. That is a little different from the RIA and Armscor guns that are made over there and then imported already assembled.

I've heard some mixed reviews. I think a run of parts weren't heat treated quite right and ended up a bit too soft. They wore poorly. But if they work as well as my RIA, which they should, then I would have no complaints.

I saw a used CD Hi Power at Gander Mountain. I was wondering about them also.

I picked up a 5" EFS a few weeks ago, I can't comment on reliability as it's only had a couple of hundred rounds through it (which have all been 100%). The finish on the outside of the gun is fine and looks good, a little uneven bluing on the mainspring housing though. When you field strip it you can see some tooling/casting marks inside the slide and such, it doesn't interfere with anything though but gives an idea of the finish work. The trigger was suprising for the money, just a little bit of take-up and very little creep and it breaks very nicely. However it is a bit heavy, I don't have a gauge but I would estimate around 6-7lbs or so.

About the only 'problem' I've had is that it shoots low (like 2-3" at 5yds  ), I'm still trying to figure out if that's me or the gun or a combination of both before I change or file the sights. Past that it shoots very tight groups, it's much more accurate than I expected from a sub $400 gun.

Got a couple.

I bought a couple of these a few years ago. Like 'em. No fits and starts, one won't feed H.P.'s, though. Not a problem, just use another 1911 for CCW. As for shooters, they're good, accurate, and seem to hold up well. The first one I bought has probably 7 or eight K through it and runs fine. No apparent stress problems.

Hi there all,

Its been reported that the Charles Daly HP is basically a US assembled FEG PJK 9HP with a better finish, the XP sighting system and the Butler Creek HP grips.

Reports from shooters and writers alike have been generally favorable to the CD HP in terms of fit, finish and accuracy.

However, there have also been some unfavorable reports with respect to Charles Daly's customer service and inability to back up its "Life Time Warranty".

Remember, Charles Daly is a importer and not a manufacturer with the means to repair all of its products.
