Cheap Buck Mark

I have a Buckmark Camper, too. You can upgrade such a basic gun with grips, sights, etc etc. I bought another Buckmark - a Hunter - with a longer barrel and it didn't shoot any better than the basic gun, so I sold it. I think you'll do a lot of really good shooting with it. One recommendation: make sure your top strap screws stay tight.

Only think I dislike about the buckmark is that it needs two different sized hex wrenches to take down for cleaning.

Make sure the grip screws stay tight, if not the trigger bar can stop working. If it does, be careful as there are small parts under spring tension that can go-a-flying -- I discovered this at the range, was a minor miracle that I didn't lose anything in the weeds.

Nice score. I've had a Camper about 20 years, been a good shooter. Check the top strap screws, I neglected to tighten them after a stripped cleaning and my zero wandered until I tightened them down.

Didn't get to go to the range today. It is a family range and one of my wife's family members that lives there just tested positive for covid. Looks like it will be at least a couple of weeks till I can try her out.

If it's an outdoor range that shouldn't stop anybody. For crying out loud, there isn't a virus in the world that can survive being outside in the fresh air and the sunshine for more than a few moments. And then it gets blown away if there's any breeze at all. That's a ridiculous excuse promolgated by those who want to frighten you into staying home.

The wife made the call. Doesn't really bother me, I'll be able to shoot it soon enough. If it keeps the wife happy, I'm good with it.

After owning a number of Ruger Mk whatevers, a top of the line High Standard, a Beretta 70 and several other rimfire pistols, I've settled on a Buckmark 'Camper' (very basic) model. Shoots like a house on fire.

Shot this a couple days ago, with aging eyes; 1.4" with CCI 40 grain Mini-Mags.

I got one like it last year. So far I’ve liked it but not shot it enough. Last outing it got a case stuck in the camber on the second magazine. I don’t blame the pistol though. The case neck was bent on seating. I’ve had nothing but trouble with that box of Federal automatch.

My camper absolutely hates automatch

Congrats on the new Buckmark! I recently added one to my collection but I think I paid too much. I got the Buckmark Plus Speed. Great looking blaster.

You may want to get a captured sear spring from Tandem Kross, It will reduce the trigger pull some. Very easy to put in. I also took out the mag safety. It works great I haven't shot it much yet.

Have safe fun!

Just saw this the other day in the weekly sales flyer: Bass Pro/Cabelas have a Browning Buck Mark Field Micro for $279.97 after $50 rebate. Runs from 11/25 to 11/30.

My stable of .22 rimfire pistols mostly contains Ruger Mark versions from the early Standard on through to the Mark IV versions, and several in between. Never considered any of the Browning Buckmarks until I received a new one in for a customer. Liked it so much I thought I needed to get one for my self and see how it holds up to the Rugers:

Not "cheap", but, I'd say it does right well!

An easy and inexpensive, as in free, way to reduce the trigger pull on a Buckmark is the Haggis Flip.

You basically remove the spring and flip it. Very easy, plenty of step by step Youtube videos to enable even someone like me to be able to do it.

Takes a lb. or 2 off the pull. Just Google it for more info.
