I got their email and they have joined Larue, Olympic Arms and Barrett and will NOT sell to agencies on any Gov't level that will not allow those types of arms for it's citizens... and they are encouraging others to do so as well... I guess they can't charge crazy prices like $4k for an AR or $100 mags to be paid by taxpayers anymore... I hope Mossberg joins as well soon as they provide NY with many of it's arms...

Got the same e-mail. Still won't buy from them though....

Recently companies such as LaRue Tactical and Olympic Arms announced they will no longer sell prohibited items to government agencies and personnel in states denying civilians to own those same items. It has been and will continue to be Cheaper Than Dirt's policy not to sell prohibited items to government agencies and agents in states, counties, cities and municipalities that have enacted restrictive gun control laws against their citizens. We support and encourage other companies that share in this sentiment.

Does anyone think that CTD does a lot of government contract supplying? If not, this a wholly empty gesture.

Unless they start giving away ammo for free to make up for all of the crap they've done in the past, they've lost my business.

Where are the other manufacturers like Ruger, Colt, Glock & Smith & Wesson? They should practice the same thing and expand it into California. I support their efforts and think its great but unless you get the big gun manufacturers in on this it's symbolic.

Regardless of what I think about Cheaper than Diamods, this is a very good step.

Maybe we should be e-mailing the other manufacturers to follow suite?

Yes, and they contributed $100,000 to the Second Amendment Foundation, but they've also soured the relationship with many many customers.

I suppose those of us that are more knowledgable firearms owners never bought much from them so they've not hurt us directly, but it still puts a bad taste in our mouths to see their marketing practices.

If they the CO's don't know who or were there dollars come from telling them won't change. I hold this as most of the others too many times have they done this type of crap and I've had enough, and will spend my weaken dollar to those who know where their livelyhood comes from...

Yes it has been CTD policy not to sell to ANYONE in a prohibited state, anything that might be prohibited. When I asked quite a few years ago about why they would not send my FFL a revolver it was simply told to me "We do not have the time to learn the laws of your state so all firearm sales are prohibited." This is no noble act, they just don't want to deal with it. Understandable that they wouldn't, but coming out and saying this is to support us that are repressed is just bull.

The Midwestern FFL from whom I bought my SR1911 seems to have no problem keeping up with Kalifornistan laws.

"Less Expensive Than Soil" lost a lot of people in '08 & they seem to be losing a lot of people now. No doubt in my mind though that if they had the only .22LR or .223 in town people will line up at their inflated prices.

My experience with Less Expensive Than Soil is... They aren't.

just for everyone: CTD does not have law enforcement sales. a police department would be beyond retarded to order from CTD when they usually go straight over the manufacturer and their law enforcement sales team and get a great discount as well.....

although good - this move is completely meaningless....

While I agree with and support the premise, this seems like a pretty empty gesture from CTD. Taking the moral high ground on an issue that you have no stake in is nothing more than empty rhetoric.

It's like a man supporting the right-to-life folks by making a promise that he will never have an abortion. That was never going to happen anyway, so other than being a PR stunt, the statement is meaningless.

I ordered once.

This grand gesture is nothing but an opportunist's ploy.

This is as transparent as saran wrap on a toilet seat.

You may still see what they are, before you sit down.

I don't know if that's a proper analogy, but it's what I feel.

They'll get no money from me. It's great that they donated money, but that does not earn them forgiveness with me. Had they stated when they jacked up their prices that any markup above msrp would be donated to NRA, SAF or some other organization like SKD did with their *******-proof Pmags , things might be different.

Never left my poop list since '08. Don't know or care what they do.

In both iterations of the Obamapanic, they participated in outrageous price gouging. Their right to charge whatever they can get away with. My right to vote with my feet and my wallet and never do business with them again. (I never thought they were all that great to begin with.)

They were one of the first retailers to gouge customers on magazines and stop firearm sales immediately following the Sandy Hook shooting.
