Anybody else's wife/girlfriend like shooting big autoloaders? Mine has become addicted to the 10mm. . . . not exactly what I thought she would enjoy shooting. We tried various 9mm, .40, and .45 autos, and she liked shooting my G-20 so much that a new one became her Christmas present! She even prefers full-house DT loads!! Love her!!:D

Only problem is now she wants everything mine has (6" Jarvis, TruGlo sights, trigger, etc.) Should have seen this coming! :banghead:

My daughter started shooting both a 22 long rifle and 22 Colt Woodsman at age 7. In addition to being a seasoned rifle shooter and hunter at age 12, she was proficient with the 9mm Mak as a field carry sidearm. At 16, being a very petite 5’2”, she was shooting 40 S&W and 45ACP pistols more accurately than I ever hoped to.

Size of the shooter means nothing. Women that take up shooting pistols are generally a lot more accurate than the average new male shooter. From what I have experienced and from what I have seen posted on the these forums, a good percentage of women are selecting 45’s when allowed to shoot a variety of weapons, and when left to their own choice. To a lesser degree, some of the ladies are comfortable with the 40’s.

You spoke of your girlfriends “addiction” to 10mm. Now when my daughter leaves after a visit, I have to check my gun safe to make sure “our” favorite addiction of choice, the USP40c, is still there, LOL.

That might be a good idea! Your USP40c may have followed your daughter home!

I've noticed the .45 thing too. . . . my wife had a blast shooting a compact Glock 45 the other day. She says she still likes the "power" of the 10 the best though. Mike McNett loads some pretty hot stuff too, so she's getting full-power 10mm loads and lovin' it! :D
