Christmas 2021.....what'd you get?

My wife and I quit Christmas presents long ago since we tend to just get ourselves what we want when we want. I did acquire a Winchester model 06 22 pump and a Western Arms 410 SXS last month and considered those my presents to myself. They came from a late friends estate. I was also gifted a new Cordova "Journey" cooler by my hunting partner and very old friend.

I run alot of Dewalt at work. I have mostly Dewalt for 20v and Milwaukee for 12v but I tend to strongly favor the Milwaukee stuff lately. The old Dewalt 18v stuff was built for the end times but the battery design is a lil out of date. I like Dewalt alot, I just hate their newer 20v ½ combo drills. I have 2 that even when brand new worked like absolute crap, sent them back and got replacements and they ran like crap too, they just aren't what they used to be.... gonna be switching over to Milwaukee everything eventually, once the dewalts are all used up, which won't be long I suspect.

We use the Milwaukee M18 fuel stuff at work (it is furnished by the contractor). I like it a lot but I'm not willing to spend the money it for what I would use it for at home.
I have some old 18 volt DeWalt XRP tools at home. I won a Sawzall & drill at a top out party years ago & added an impact later. I found a solution to the battery issue. They make an adapter that allows the older 18 volt XRP tools to use the newer 20v batteries. I bought a drill at Lowes for $99.99 to get the charger & batteries & added the adapter for $33.00 (Amazon wanted $145 for a charger, 2 batteries & the adapter).

The chuck on my Dewalt impact quite holding the bits in on me all of a sudden. Only a couple years old. What really sucked was I was 40 feet up on an extension ladder running line set for a mini-split system and had to climb up and down twice to retrieve my bits.

Nothing except many wishes for a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year. We're retired so any gift we purchase is something that will shine a light in someone else's life for years to come. We have everything we need or want. No material gifts is a rule for any holiday gatherings. I never was a fan of the gift exchange. Christmas became a commercial sales holiday so many years ago I lost track.

That stinks. I would have been talking to myself.

My wife told me to buy myself a gun for Christmas. I didn't pick it up until the Monday after but I got a PSA Dagger. I'll probably get to shoot it tomorrow. Oh and my father-in-law gave me $20. There was a bag of bite sized Snickers in my stocking & my sister-in-law gave me a battery powered chainsaw with about a 5 or 6 inch bar. I need to look at it closer. My wife teases me saying if I get something I don't want I always pile it up the same place. She goes there the following year when she is looking for stuff to regift because she knows I don't care about that stuff.

We use those adapters for our Dewalt right angle drills and praise God for them, those old 18v right angles have been through it all and keep on going, I don't know if they'll ever quit.....

Yeah being 40ft up and losing a bit or a screw sucks, I like a 25ft magnetic tape measure for grabbing smaller metal items that get away, just gotta have a keen eye for the drop zone......

Well , perhaps a bit off topic - but the question was an open one , so here's what I got :

In the weeks leading up to Christmas I had an extended stay in the hospital under dire circumstances , and while I was away we had 2 cases of you-know-what occur within our family. Those 2 cases passed and I arrived home just in time for all of us to be together for Christmas Eve!

Best gift ever , Thank God.
