Hi...
Gun related gifts were in short supply this year.
My son gave me an Anderson Manufacturing upper and lower for an AR build I have been planning to start after the first of the year.
This will be my first AR. My son has built two and will e specing out the parts for this one. Looking to build a MOA rifle with an 18" free floated barrel with a muzzle brake.

The balance of the parts will be acquired over time as funds allow along with completing other projects. Ideally, I would like to have it completed before mid-summer.
(AR 556 10.5 inch with sig brace)

I got a jumper and a 3 CD set of 70s music from my daughter. I had a friend and his girl friend round for Christmas dinner. Now i must get out and work in the forest and get ready for my driven boar hunt in Hungary in a couple of weeks.

First I received a Streamlight flashlight and new Hogue grips for my Browning Hi-Power from my "Secret Santa" last Wednesday! Needed another mini flashlight for the nightstand and my old Hi-Power has long deserved an update in the grip department. Then for Christmas my wife got me an NRA concealed carry hoodie sweatshirt and a Pietta Colt Model 1860 from Cabela's (had them and the Remington New Model Army on sale this year)! The sweatshirt fits and works great and the Colt is just down right beautiful. Thanks go out to my lovely and thoughtful daughter and to my wife for their most excellent Christmas presents.

I saw the sunrise this morning. It was a beautiful sight to see. I walked in the crunchy cold new fallen snow said:
This!

Being alive. It was an early gift in late October.
The Only problem sign had been shortness of breath For Weeks, and this was Only during typical runing. Having a very healthy heart/pulse, I ignored the frequent slow-downs needed when jogging.

Suddenly feeling like a very bad flu while driving, I gradually steered the car towards the nearby hospital. They relieved the heart attack with a few baby aspirin and a stent, in the "Widowmaker" artery.

I did the same thing! Ignored the tightness in my chest for months till I couldn't take a step without pain. It was a 95% Proximal blockage of the right Coronary Artery. My Cardiologist told my wife I was within hours of suffering a heart attack I would not have survived. Sure puts everything into perspective.

Santa brought me a Comp-Tac International holster, and some ammo. Daughter-In-Law made some calendars featuring pictures of family members.

Great gift! Always wanted one of those when I was a kid; thought they were so versatile to a young hunter like myself on a very limited budget.

My son was offered an Army ROTC scholarship a few weeks into the first semester of his Freshman year. To congratulate him and celebrate saving a ton of tuition money I bought him a SIG P320 TacOps. This is the Army's new issue pistol on steroids. The look on his face Christmas morning was worth a million bucks to me.

A Pietta 1858. Or... Cabela's gift cards that promptly turned into a Pietta 1858 :D

Plus (and probably more importantly...) time on the same side of the country with my family...

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas I got about 3 pounds I'm going to have lose before my annual physical next year or get growled at by my Dr. Other than that I got nothing gun related but my wife talked Santa into bringing me a new scroll saw.

I lucked into it, I walked into my local LGS two days before Christmas and it was sitting on the used rack for 275. It's one of the production from about the mid-90s.

Just thought I would show you all how the new Hogue rosewood grips look on my Hi-Power. Fit and finish are perfect and they go very nicely with the matte blued finish. Definitely the cat's meow!

Another look along with the Kershaw Leek I received for my birthday. I think they make for a great gun/knife combo!

Time with family and some awful good food. Duluth Trading Company underwear. Underwear so 'tuff an angry beaver couldn't chew through them. And some more money for my gun fund. I'm saving up for a 2K gun.
