I am guessing YES, but am no expert. Call Rossi customer service and ask. If you do, please let us know what you find. God Bless :)

I inherited a Mod 29 Smith .44 magnum that was owned by a real circuit judge. ;) You can shoot .44 Special out of any .44 Magnum, just like you can shoot .38 Special out of any .357 magnum....revolver, that is.

Right off the bat, folks fire .44 Spl in .44 Mag revolvers and in .44 Magnum lever-action rifles, so the logical assumption is it should be OK.

But then this IS the Internet and I am NOT a French model. Bon jour. (Somebody contact Rossi; quite frankly, the ability to use .44 Spl for practice or small game would be a selling point for the .44mag Circuit Judge.)

I am not going to buy one of these guns until they have one called the Supreme Court Justice!

I believe it comes with a free Constitution themed target...

It shoots both. I remember watching a Youtube review a few weeks back where the guy shot both out of it but I can't find it now.

Anyone know a good. 44 load and some where to get them?

Do you reload? If you do, .44 Mag can be surprisingly cheap to shoot. If not, it looks like most companies want $.80 to $1 per round, and all my normal online ammo spots are sold out.

For medium power practice or plinking loads I like a 240 gr cast over ~8.2 gr HP-38 (Win 231). For full power Wompin' loads it's hard to beat a 240 gr xtp over 23 - 23.5 gr H110 (Win 296), although you'll need magnum primers.
