Classroom Fun

It’s a sad day in college, I replied just above before going to my class. Well during that class the teacher promoted (not just informed, which I would have been fine with) a pro immigrant protest here on campus. She spent a good portion of the period getting the students riled up in support using many what I felt were factually baseless and flat out wrong statements. I didn’t personally speak up because I am not familiar enough with the issue to actually counter and back up with facts what she was claiming. Some other students did chose to speak up, and she pretty much told them it was disrespectful to speak while others were speaking (They never got a “turn” to speak).

They are not talking about immigrants. They are talking about illegals and making them equivalent to honest immigrants like my wife. The honest immigrants deserve equal treatment, ie, everyone else has to go through the same hurdles as people of any color from other countries.

Show this to your teacher.

Too bad you couldn't have had the time to prepare by wearing a toy gun in a proper rig and demonstrating how a person w/ training could get a gun out against a bumbler w/ a knife.

That is nonsense, If you don't want to believe me you can just leave.

And that statement is the whole scheme wrapped up. Blind obedience. Don't think. Believe what you are told. We know whats best for you, just ask us!

thumbs up to you sir. i am just confused as to why the speaker assumed that the person carrying wouldn't be able to kick the attacker's AS* without pulling their gun?

wondiferous!!!
my girlfriend is a criminal justice major who believes that no private citizens should 'be allowed' to have guns! she thinks only people who work for the gov should have them. no problem with me owning, and even will help me get one for my birthday 08, but she is incredibly resistant to the notiotn that the constitution trumps social engineering and whatnot

Similar thing got me sent to the Deans office because an entire class dropped the teacher before midterms. I thought schools are supposed to be bastions of learning not mindless rhetoric. Reminds me i have to take another PH course now. Only one year left! Hang in there 30-06lover, we are still rootin for you. Mine happened at Washburn University in '05.

wait...she's still your girlfriend? Just how good looking is she?:scrutiny:

That's pretty cool 30-06 lover! You did a great job. Additionally you could have taken the "gun" yourself and show the class how fast and effectively YOU could draw it in the situation where you're attacked. And point out that the right training is fundamental if you choose to carry a handgun.

Again, great job, you did exactly the right thing:D

I think you may have rocked that speakers world with some good old common sense.
Something that is sadly more and more lacking in academia. Sigh.
I wish to God I took an engineering and business course of study.

That's an awsome story. I even like how it had a happy ending about cleaning a new firearm. Students should always question, never just accept statements as fact. Good work.

That was a great learning lesson in countering this kind of stuff.

And not only with respect to 2A. See, for example,

http://noindoctrination.org/

Scroll down to "View Postings."

This site collects documented instances of professors' attempts to indoctrinate their students with their own opinions, and offers the instructors a chance to respond to the allegation.

Excellent job! You should petition the professor to now allow a right to carry speaker come and speak. If he objects you could move up the chain of command mentioning how you are disturbed about the indoctrination going on. Who knows, it might work.

good job,

although i would have been tempted to stay, and blow his argueement further. another thing is i would have asked to be the 'victum'. hypothetically, all of us have had some training in keeping our gun in our hands. that random student wouldn't have had that training.

post back with your teachers comments!
