Cleaning guns is a necessary evil. I don't mind it after getting everything out but I'm not as anal about cleaning after every range trip like I used to be.

I don't mind it at all. I've got a large bench set up in my mancave. I lay the guns out and pop open a cold, frosty beverage to enjoy while cleaning them. Maybe even two...

Eating/drinking while working with cleaning chemicals typically don't mix. It's your health at stake though.

I always clean every gun after shooting it. I don't particularly enjoy it but I do it anyway.

To be honest, I think there actually is something to this.

Though I have some good gear, tools and a decent universal gun vise, I don't really have a great 'area' to work on them.

I don't clean them every single time immediately after shooting them, at least not all of them, but I do make an effort to give them a good cleaning before too long--especially if I know they will be sitting a while before they're used again.

My next home will have a perfect Man Cave work bench and shop area and I am willing to bet I'll be a lot more inclined to get down and dirty and clean the heck outta things in there.

Might even pop open a coldy while I'm "Working." And if it's 'Frosty,' I might just have.....two.

When you shoot black powder, you clean your guns.

Why wouild you not enjoy handling your guns? Why would you not enjoy protecting your investment?

Geez, how often do you guys take a shower???

I absolutely love it. Hell, back at Benning during BCT I bought my own kit and used to clean that M16 for the fun of it.

I go out to the back porch, get my equipment ready.. Lay out my guns and just relax. Stripping them down, cleaning every nook. It probabaly won't surprise anyone but I shine my boots for fun too lol

I like my guns clean and functioning correctly. Unfortunately that means I must clean them. It is like laundry, mowing the lawn, washing the dishes and cleaning the house. I like it after it is done, not doing it.

I actually like it. It's kind of therapeutic. Turn the radio on in the garage, sit at my work bench and tinker. Even the stink of Ballistol has kind of grown on me.

I enjoy and take pride in cleaning my guns. The three things that relax me. Shooting, reloading what i shoot, and cleaning the guns that i shoot. Other things relax me. But that is another post:evil:

Thanks everyone for all the input. at the moment we are tied for love it and dont mind it (51-51).

I am glad i am not the only one that likes to give my guns a good scrubbing after a nice day of killing evil paper targets or evil melons or whatever evil things that are lurking down range.

I neither love nor hate it.

If you hate cleaning your gun, buy a Glock.

If you hate loading, buy factory ammo.

I was raised by the maxim "Don't let the sun set on a dirty gun" and I live by it. I don't like or dislike cleaning guns. It is part of the shooting experience. I clean my guns after shooting because it is an ingrained habit, much as wiping one's posterior after defecating, although I do not equate the two in any way. :)

Military for 15 years, you know I clean mine after firing. My EDC pistol I run a swap through it every evening to make sure the barrel's clear before it goes on the nightstand.

The kids and wife can't stand the smell of Hoppe's, so it gives me some much needed quiet time...

This subject has been beat to death. Lots of different opinions.
I shoot it I clean. Simple as that.
If you don`t clean your weapon, what else is it you don`t clean ? Like you only wash you car when you can`t tell what color it is? Don`t cut the grass unless your having company? Don`t brush your teeth in the morning cause your not going anywhere? Never buy gas till you run out and the Road-Ranger gives you 5 gallons?
Some guys are on top of their game and some procrastinate. So it goes.

I hate it! I used to be very anal about cleaning my guns after every range trip. Now, all of my guns probably go about a month between cleanings, several hundred rounds. Its the least enjoyable part of shooting to me.
