Never really thought to get a 380 subcompact pistol untill i started carrying, that's when i realized my Glock 19 cannot be carried at some occasions due with OWB or IWB holster. So im now on a hunt for a smaller pistol

found a made in Germany marked Sig P232 at local pawnshop, looks NIB with 2 mags and box, is that a good/fair price? This one is not stainless but blued

could someone here clue me in on the Sig P232 series?

A friend of mine carries one in a pocket holster in his back pocket when he feels carrying his 45 is a PITA IWB during the summer - he really likes it, I gave it some consideration until I saw the RH only safety (I'm LH)

The P232 is a very nice .380, but it's not particularly small. Recoil is also pretty sharp (at least in my aluminum-framed P230. If you want a true "carry anywhere, anytime" .380, The Ruger LCP or Kel-Tec P3-AT is hard to beat, IMO. I love my ruger.

Sig makes a nice gun and the p232 is no exception. Recoil is noticeable but it's manageable and it's accurate to boot. I carry mine when my Walther PPS is a little too much. I picked up mine used for $375 a while back, so deals are out there.

Is what a good price?

In the last few years I've purchased several Sigs. The last alloy frame P232 was bought in '08 for $315. That was a very good price, so adding a reasonable amount for inflation, you should not have to pay more than $400, but probably more than $325.

Great gun, very accurate, points well, easy to conceal and weights only about 18 oz.

Gratuitous photo of some Sigs.

I really like the rubber Hogue finger bump grips on the blued pistol above. Lessons recoil and feels great in the hand.

P232 isn't very much larger than a Walther PP.
If I come across one in .32 acp, I'm adding it to my collection.
