Someone who works in the same department I do was missing since Nov 25 and the police found her charred body a few days ago. She died from blunt trauma to the head that the authorities said was "a product of rage", and her body was taken to a remote location and burned. All the evidence points to her husband and the DA has charged him with her murder.
She was planning to divorce her husband, and I read that she was going to file a restraining order against him. Although the exact details of the crime aren't yet known, it's too bad she didn't have at least a ".38 special" restraining order ( ), maybe she'd still be alive...
Although I didn't work directly with her, she was always friendly to everyone. The entire office is in shock and disgusted with the apparent guilt of her husband. She left behind three boys, ages 11, 9, and 5.
