Cobray?, anyone heard of it?

I aquired two derrengers from a coworker for $50 for both of them. All they say on them is Cobray on the grip and ducktown TN .45 cal on the barrel. So I figured that the guns shot 45 long colt and 410 and that they were made in Tennesee. But other than that I'm at a blank on what they are actually worth or anything like that. Most of the gundealers I have spoken to about the guns say they have heard of them but don't know much about them either. They are cute little guns and I would just like to know more about them.

Cobray made a lot of Mac-10 and Mac-11 full auto subguns and produced semi-auto versions after FOPA '86, they also created the derringers you now have. Just a photo of one of the guns they produced has been known to send an anti-gunner into an instant spasm of incontinence, heartburn, and dizziness.

The guns you have aren't worth much, but you did really good to get both for $50. The lowest that one has sold on Gunbroker in the past couple of months is $79 not including shipping.

Thanks for the info. I heard through the grapevine that the guns were still available new but was just having trouble finding any info on them. Thanks for the links, they were very helpful.

The Cobray logo may be on the grips, but your Model D derringers were manufactured by FMJ(Full Metal Jacket). FMJ also produced the side by side Model DD derringer, a rifle version of the Model D, a .22 LR pepperbox pistol that was manually indexed, and a Model D black powder muzzle loader. FMJ also marketed kit versions of their firearms minus the breach plates that didn't require an FFL and were sold mail order. The photo is the Model D in kit form, less the breach plate.
