I just got back last night from my vacation. We spent 3 days in Cody Wyoming, 3 days in Yellowstone, 3 days on Jackson Lake in the Grand Tetons and 2 days in Jackson Hole. I cannot even begin to describe how breathtakingly beautiful these places are.

Right off the bat we got a 2 day pass to the Buffalo Bill Cody museum, which is actually 5 sperate museums. The Firearms Museum, a Plains Indians museum, natural history museum, western art museum and a museum dedicated to the life of Bill Cody.

I spent most of the first day in the firearms museum. They have over 6,000 firerarms, but only 2,700 were on display. On day two I went back and took some photos. Frankly it was overwhelming and I could only do my best to get some representative shots. I hope you guys enjoy them.

Thanks Goose!!

Glad you had fun. I never knew there was such a thing in Cody on the three occasions I was there. If I'm ever back, I'll surely check it out. Great pics. I wish I could read all the printed material posted by the guns.

It's a wonderful trip to take. I've gone out there a few times, and hope to again someday. I was never at that museum though, which is a shame because I was in Cody.

Awesome photos, it reminds me of the film "Demolition Man".

I was there earlier this month.

It is a must-see for any firearms aficionado. I spent hours looking at the scores various "transitional" (from cap and ball to cartridge) guns including some extremely rare prototypes. Some of the various "ideas" were fascinating. I can't even begin to estimate what this collection might be worth.

What made my visit even nicer was that there was a huge gun show/sale going on right across the street at Cody's High School at the same time.

Wyoming is very high on my "short list" of potential retirement spots. It is a very gun-friendly state.

Sweet pics goose. I was just there less than a week ago. My wife and I stayed in Cody and and spent a week going to yellowstone, white water rafting in Gardner Montana, and we drove to devils tower, mount rushmore and the badlands. It was a terrific vacation, awsome scenery.

Yep ! Great area and a must see if your going to Wyoming. It has been awhile since I was there last. Had friends that lived in Jackson Hole for a time. Used to take the drive through the Sheridan pass in the Big Horns and come through Cody and the east gate of Yellowstone - then down to Jackson Hole. Fond memories . Great museum !

My wife and I were there several years ago. We almost turned around and walked out when we saw admission was $15 each, because we only had a couple hours to spare. I'm glad we went in, it was well worth the money. Very impressive and a must see for the serious student of firearms history. We ended up spending more than a couple hours, my wife got bored and we didn't have much time to spend in Yellowstone. We'll go back again someday when the kids are older.
