Back in the early 90's I used to have a personal New Years Day ritual of dressing warm and hiking alone up in the Shawangunk ridge in Ulster County, NY. I'd usually have either my SKS or my Enfield with me...and a thermos full of hot coffee spiked with a little brandy. I did it for like 6 years in a row, no matter the weather, and even if there was a family gathering planned it would have to wait. I squeeze off like 30 rounds here and there. There were old mines and lots of junk to shoot at. But it never would have been the same without the spiked coffee. I made sure I didnt overdo it, just a warm tingle in my nose.
