I have some nice knives and one great cutlass made by these guys. Does anyone know what happened to them? I placed an order with them some weeks ago. They sent a confirmation email and then disappered. No response to three emails. No one answers their customer service line or their general business line. It looks like they went out of business which is a real shame.

I think they are all at the SHOT show. You won't have much luck finding anybody in the "tactical" businesses this week.

If you like CS, you can usually buy their stuff for cheaper at any number of online knife stores.

other people sell CS cheaper like the grand canyon is a hole :)

Agreed that it's hard to get a hold of anyone at CS in the best of times.. but frankly I've never had something not show up that I ordered. Give 'em some time.

You've made a huge assumption there. The week getting ready for SHOT, the week of SHOT itself, and then the week recuperating after SHOT are big down times for a lot of knife manufacturers. Check back with them later in the week when they start crawling back in.;)

Yep. The last week of January and the first two weeks of February are pretty much a dead calm in the knife industry except for pure retailers.

It's also a bad time of year to buy a production knife. SHOT is when the majority of new models are introduced and some of the models you find today online will be discontinued, discounted and cleared off over the summer if you shop carefully.

Mystery Solved.

Apparently, their on-line orders are handled by "Yahoo! Store Order System." Despite these guys sending me two confirms, Yahoo never passed to order info on to Cold Steel, who is out of the item I wanted now and for all time.

Glad to learn they are still around. They may not be the best but they do offer interesting products, reasonably well made and priced appropriately for their quality.

Thanks to all respondents. I forgot about the SHOT show, which is hard to imagine since it is scattered all over the internet!

Sorry, but I have to mention this. Their new catalog contains items they have not stocked for months and have no plans on restocking according to the CS guy I spoke with today. That is a little irritating since I wasted three weeks screwing around with them on one of these.
