Collector or Shooter?

I have no problem shooting all of my guns, but I don't get around to it that often. Makarov, Glock, Arcus, all shot once even though I have had them for a while. Sometimes I just plain forget to grab it as I take other ones out. My USP has been shot the most I believe. So I would consider myself a collector who shoots? I do buy some just for the looks, as long as they feel okay in the hand. And if I could keep them all perfect with use, I would. That's why I clean them so much I guess.

Cars are to be driven....
Wine is to be drank....
Toys are to be played with....
and guns....
Guns are made to be shot.

I am a shooter. I collect or accumulate as it may be but I will not own any 100% safe queens. I may own guns I don't shoot often or those that I consider nicer then others but at some point or another everything gets shot when the fancy strikes.

Life is to short to not take the time to enjoy one's toys.

Besides, 99% of the firearms I own I want to be proficient enough to use them in a SD situation. I am comfortable that I am with most of our guns.

Collector... I collect ammunition in quantities, then I shoot it. Recently, I've extended my collector habit to brass. Looking for some decent reloading equipment to collect next... :p

edit: typo

Shooter here.

As other have said, Wife, kids, crappy work hours, bills seem to take priority over shooting.

One day I will be filthy stinkin rich and then I will collect shooters.

Well we can all dream.

Collect that which I can shoot, and shoot what I collect, albeit some more than others.

However, there are a number of firearms that I bought many years ago, way before I would have even considered collecting, and which have become collectors items. Their value has increased many-fold either because they were a limited run, which I had no way of knowing at the time, or because they simply ran their course and are not manufactured anymore. I rarely shoot these anymore.

Shooter.:D If it doesn't get used I'll trade it in on something that will be used.:)

I'm a shooter who accumulates guns. Actually, I think they're reproducing while I'm not looking.
Standing Wolf ........... how do you ''sex'' your guns .... I have been long hoping for a ''great event'' but I think either I have failed in the pairing or - they are just damned sterile!:D

Can't think of any guns in the hoard I wouldn't shoot. There are a couple I don't consider safe, but I hang on to them more for sentimental reasons than for collector purposes.

Shooter all the way.

In 45 years of accumulating my collection of shooters has waxed and waned, but if I can't shoot it or don't like to shoot it, it disappears.

Definitly a shooter. I've got one I can't find ammo for (Ger. Comm. Mdl. 1888) and one I want to keep in good shape (Moss. 500 in desert camo), but the rest are shooters. If it gets too expensive, too burdensome, or not interesting enough to shoot, it goes bye-bye.

Like Gewehr98 said.

I have a collection that I like to shoot. For the most part I tend towards classics. I also shoot them, since most guns become classics by being well-designed and highly functional. Besides, I get a kick out of shooting something that has some history behind it.

Collector

Don't get me wrong, I shoot at least twice a week. Spent over $400 last month on ammo, now I'm in trouble with the wife. But I only have 6 or 6 guns that I really shoot, everything else I just look at and fondle. I have several that I've never fired due to either condition, or scarcity of ammo.

Shooter times two and a half.

I also tried to collect every interesting type of gun I could think of. I don't have any flintlocks yet.
